OK, I'm annoyed. I was delivered the new and improved Firefox 89.0 and they have moved familiar stuff around. Also the Bookmarks Toolbar is empty no matter how many Options I choose, so what the hell. It seems like technology gets more aggravating every day, just when my tolerance is at its lowest. I notice there are "themes" now, so a use can choose a different color combo. I chose one called "Dark Fox" that is pleasing to the eye, but so far that is the only thing I'm pleased about. Guess I'll jump on the Mozilla support forums and join the lynch mob of PO'd users.
My bookmarks are intact; they just don't display across the top of the screen in the "Bookmarks Toolbar." I changed the theme a couple of times but still nuthin'.
I've not used that feature. I just read an article on how to add Bookmarks there but can't get it to work...it's likely me doing something wrong.
No; I don't think it's working. I can go to Manage Bookmarks and mine are all still listed under Bookmarks Toolbar; they just aren't displaying at the top of the page. That bar is empty and I know I used it last night to access "My Chart" from MD Anderson. So they did something... grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I've got a Search Settings issue. The daggone Results show up in the Address Bar rather than the Search Box in the middle of the screen: Here are my settings: When I get a New Tab and type just one letter in the Search Box: The results appear in the Address Bar: If I mangle a result so it is not a proper url and hit Enter, I get a proper search page where the results now appear in the box and not the address bar: There aren't a lot of Settings to this feature. I should be able to turn off the Show Results in Address Bar with a single click.
Those aren't actual search results in the address bar; they are "suggestions." If you complete the search (hit enter) you should get a normal search results page. I removed the search from the home page because I always use the address bar.
There is a "handoff" setting when you go to "about:config" that toggles this behaviour. For some reason it was never set to True in the prior versions that got installed on my machine. I figured that Firefox was trying to force users into searching via the Address Bar. I just found the tip in a Reddit comment and came here to post it.
Shortly after Firefox came out, I used it. It was fast because it wasn't loaded down with a whole lot of junk features. Then it got clunkier and clunkier. I haven't tried Firefox in quite some time. I don't even know if they have a version for Mac.
I think I just read that the new version takes care of some color saturation issue that existed under certain circumstances on the Mac O/S.
I think we are. We're talking about problems with the recent Firefox upgrade. Unless I miss your meaning. Or your tone. Or whatever else may have caused your question to go over my head (sometimes in life I feel like Mickey Rooney.)
There is a version that works on a Mac. I like FF because I can use it on any device and all my passwords, etc. travel with me.
"Why can't Johnny read?" *sigh* I chose it because I was concerned over Bing [Microsoft] and Chrome [Google] privacy issues. I've used it for so long that it's now more habit than anything else, although I still harbor privacy concerns regarding the other two.
