Might be a NEW resident or one that left and returned. Yes ALL staff and residents have been vaccinated.
I feel bad that I didn't even ask how that person is doing, Lon. Are they severely ill, or do they just have regular flu symptoms and tested positive?
I try very hard not to step on cracks in the sidewalk. Sometimes I still have bad luck, but I know that it would have been a whole lot worse if I had stepped on those cracks.
My mother is in a memory care unit now, and was vaccinated last year. A few months ago one of the staff in the section tested positive, so all the residents were too. My mother tested positive, but because she had been vaccinated, she showed no symptoms. Had she not been vaccinated, it would have certainly killed her.
#1: I'm glad your mother is OK. #2: This goes to the insanity that states are rewarding those who get vaccinated by telling them to go mask-free. They can become asymptomatic carriers, and are not wearing masks to prevent the spread.
In the three years that I have lived here there have been 10 deaths from causes other than COVID. None that I know of due to COVID. There have been 15 residents that have fallen including me. Despite walkers, canes and wheel chairs falls seem to be a daily occurence.
Just how many of the U.S. population have stopped wearing masks, but haven't been vaccinated at all yet? How can anyone be trusted, not wearing a mask, that they were vaccinated............unless, they are asked for their vaccination card/ID and their drivers license. Why their drivers license? Because there are those that will use someone else's vaccination card and hope nobody will ask for their DL.
To the extent you believe in the severity of this, EVERYONE should be wearing a mask. Exactly why would you think someone should not just because they got vaccinated? -The vaccinated can still contract this -The vaccinated can still transmit this -Masks are to protect the other guy Therefore, the vaccinated should also wear masks. It should be clear to you that if the government rewards you for getting The Shot by "giving you permission" to take off your mask, they have been/are still lying to you. How can you still believe a darned thing they say? And why are you so ready to punish the non-vaccinated for not wearing a mask? I've not seen data that they present a greater risk than The Vaccinated. You do not punish people for following irrational rules "just because." And you don't remove your mask and then tell us you believe any of it.
How about we just treat this virus like we've treated every other virus we've ever encountered? Stay home if you want to, wear a mask if you want to, and keep our noses out of everyone else's business.
But as we can see, the whole thing has been set up as a "Turn In Your Neighbor" program. And there are a number of people who are more than happy to play.
All I know is that Dr. Fauci and others, like the WHO, with their experience, education, etc., to me, are more trustworthy to believe than those that don't have the experience, education, etc., etc.. People take medical advice for darn good reasons.........well, that is, some people do. Wife and I know of at least one person, who wouldn't see a doctor, get/take any medication and now she is gone. Her husband got fairly upset, saying "if she would've only gone to her doctor and got/took medications, this wouldn't have happened. She let herself go, didn't do a thing about her medical problems, nothing, and this is what happened.........she died. She absolutely refused any help from anyone and all I could do is watch her go. Such a tragedy!
Anyone who believes ^that^ (and I understand it can be a sincerely held belief) should never take their mask off around other people, and should be screaming at the government for telling The Vaccinated that they can remove theirs. Anyone who believes ^that^ should be screaming at a government that claims just a scarf or any "face covering" is going to stop such a deadly virus. Anyone who believes that should not be satisfied when the guy next to them is wearing a bandana as protection. Common sense tells you that there's just as much risk as in going bare-faced...otherwise, it's just a control thing. Anyone who believe that must necessarily admit that the govenrment only put in a reward system to coerce shots, and it has nothing to do with public health. There is no other truth.
