When most of my colleagues migrated to Facebook from a private professional forum, so did I. I am very active there, having reconnected with old friends and making new ones, even doing some for-free, asynchronous teaching there. I joined the AARP Community earlier this year. It's not well attended, and most threads aren't interesting to me. I do have a Twitter account but rarely use it as it is not really set up for conversation. I view it more as a marketing platform. I can't really figure out Instagram altho I have an account there.
This forum. A Mazda owner's forum. The occasional trades forum (plumbing, electrical) to get a one-off question answered. I do not have a Facebook account. Zuckerberg is the devil. I get frustrated with businesses that use Facebook rather than a publicly-accessible website because they are inaccessible to a non-FB human. I don't understand how people can aggregate everything they are and everyone they know (and everyone THOSE people know, ad infinitum across the globe) into a central database. And people wonder how they get scammed by someone posing as a grandchild ("She knew everything about me!")
I use multiple social media outlets - this one, city data, facebook and several other senior type forums. I have a twitter account but have not looked at it for years.
I'm on several forums, Facebook & MeWe. I recently left one forum because I could no longer stand all the fighting. I have a couple games I like on Facebook and I'm in a gaming group for a game I have on my Nintendo game console.
It is a fun site to visit and post to. Residents, staff, family and friends can see what is going on here. It's very informative for potential residents. (1) Oakmont of Fresno | Facebook
My grandchildren are increasingly asking me to register with TikTok. I always thought it was something young and I don't catch the essence of many videos there. They're so fast. But then I found people the same age as me who record funny videos. At such moments, I begin to think that I need to get rid of my frequent negative mood and become, like the people in the video, more cheerful and a little ridiculous. Maybe if I shoot funny videos for TikTok, it will transform me for the better. What do you think about Tik Tok? Are there any people you watch there? Maybe the examples will help me come up with new creative ideas.
I have a Facebook account and a Twitter account; but I seldom post pictures to either one, and I never make videos to post. Actually, I seldom make any kind of videos, and if I do, it is just something of my family. I think that if you enjoy making videos and watching videos that other people post, that this might be something that you will enjoy, @Ilya Pavlov ; and you have nothing to lose by trying it out. If it turns out that you do not enjoy it, you can just leave and stop posting videos. I belong to several Facebook groups that interest me, and if you have a Facebook account, you can probably find some groups on there that you are interested in, since they have all kinds of different ones.
