Interesting. I took a look at those books on Amazon. I've never encountered them before. I understand how such descriptions can all sound the same. I was tasked with finding every place our 3 churches had a web presence and updating the descriptions, service times, contact data, etc. It was interesting finding all of the places that gathered such data, likely initially poached from the main UMC website and eventually from each other. It wasn't easy finding someone to actually modify the data. But that's databases for you...all create and no maintain. That write-up you linked to looks like it's in your old stomping grounds, huh?
Same state, wrong peninsula. I am from the Upper Peninsula, and have only been below the bridge a few times.
My most recent orders are: A new cell phone for my Honey. Our phone service let me know that his 3G phone would not work now that the Cell phone Carriers are up grading to "5G". Five new tops for me to wear...now that I'm getting out more. Three books by Kara Tippets, a young Christian mother who did not survive breast cancer but who lives on through the love and inspiration she shared with everyone through documenting her journey through a Blog, 3 books, and a Documentary.
I placed an order for a whole bunch of sprout seeds and blends. sproutpeople.org is run by a husband and wife who have being in the sprout and microgreen business their entire adult lives. They met at a Grateful Dead concert and were married 8 weeks later...it don't get more authentic than that! I've used their website extensively, so figured it was time to throw them some business.
I bought a cross and chain for my wife...she's never had one and asked for one. It get here next week.
I just bought a lawnmower since my 15+-year-old, $90 lawnmower won't start. It's been on its last legs for the past couple of years, but I decided not to buy another one as long as the old one would start. I bought a pretty cheap one over at True Value - although, had I waited another couple of months, I could have probably gotten a better deal on it. The problem I am having right now is that, because it wouldn't fit into my car, the manager of True Value said he'd drop it off for me within an hour when he went on break. Delivery is not a service that they offer, so it was nice of him but, here I am, nearly two hours later, and I still don't have a lawnmower. I only live three blocks from True Value so I could have rolled it home and had my lawn mowed by now. I want to do some watering because I planted more lupines in the back but I'd like to mow the lawn before I water.
I place a sizeable Amazon order today. Got stuff for my new phone & watch, plus a few items I've been sitting on. -Screen protectors for new smartwatch -Charger for smartwatch -Magnetic wireless charger for new phone -Stand for wireless charger -Case for new phone -Car chargers for phone & watch -Phone cradle for car (from AliExpress) -Apple Lightening cables -Replacement cable for my computer's monitor (loose wire makes the screen turn yellow) -New American Standard Bible and Essential Theological Terms book (inspired by threads here) -Silica gel desiccant (thanks for the tip, Don Alaska!) -Elastic cord to tie up tomato plants (saw this on the web, it stretches so the plant can move & grow) -Fender covers to prevent scratches when changing oil, etc
