For some reason, they didn't count on Harris' unpopularity and how she has screwed up everything she has touched. Also, the long time friends of Biden have been "poisoning the well' as far as Harris is concerned to make her even more unpopular to fend off a 25th amendment action. The Dems try to put people into office they think cannot be criticized. They bring out the "sexist" label (Hillary), the "racist" label (Obama), or , in Harris' case, they expected to use both to shout down any disagreement on policies. You can't disagree with the policies; you must be criticizing them for their race, sex, or both.
It is quite understandable why a political party would support a significantly demented person for president (e.g., grabbing political power and its spoils); however, less understandable is why people would vote for someone with severe dementia. His opponent lacked a degree of civility and humility but wasn't demented and not inclined to give away the ranch. I did some "lunch counter" research on this issue and may report on it later, if appropriate. Edit Note: More often than not, it is taking some courage for people to admit they voted for Biden and are finding it difficult to explain their rationale, which is quite understandable (e.g., cognitive dissonance).

It’s funny (not funny ha-ha) that Joe is seen dishonoring our fallen by looking at his watch and then to think back when D. Trump was in office when he stood at attention and saluted our fallen soldiers. I really can’t wait to hear what Biden has to say when 9/11 gets here.
