Manager text them asking them to quite down and stop the noise. They replied no one was home. Um, yet the noise stopped immediately. Manager texts me no one home, has it stopped? Yes it is quite now. Thank you... Manager, it must of been the dogs. Diana dogs do not read texts.
I hope this made sense.. lord I am dizzy after todays episode .

When we moved from Reno to Florida we went through all the items in our attic and garage and eliminated about 75% of the items. We either gave them to our children, to charitable organizations or just tossed it in the trash depending on their condition. Inside the house we disposed of much of the furniture as we wanted to purchase furniture that had a Florida vibe. We still ended up spending over $12,000 on relocation costs, yikes but we had lived in the house for 25 years and with all the kids stuff and our stuff had accumulated a bunch of junk… I wanted to get rid of everything but hubby wouldn’t hear of it, so such is life! We now have a lovely home in Florida with a great Florida vibe and I have no complaints. I do prefer less over more but hubs feels the need to be prepared for all circumstances and I do appreciate that mindset.

I threw away an old computer that hasn't worked since the early 1990s. Does that count as downsizing? I still have about twenty other old computers, most of which still work.

No, we haven't done any downsizing. I like my "stuff" and I plan to keep it till I go out of here feet first. If the kids are inconvenienced by my hoard, they can consider it as payback for those teenage years.

I tried plenty of times to downsize but deciding on 'what' to downsize is why I haven't. I like my 'stuff' too @Beth Gallagher

This is a problem that I have, too. Even when I know that i should start getting rid of some of the extra stuff, it is really hard to decide what and when to get rid of something.
I am working on it, albeit slowly; but I am trying hard not to accumulate any more unnecessary stuff. At least I can keep the problem from growing.

After an evening with lots of good food, wine and several drinks last week a friend decided to do some downsizing for us. When he - somewhat the worse for wear - went upstairs to the guest room he tripped on the top stair and fell on our TV bench totally demolishing it. Luckily the TV is fixed to the wall so that escaped damage as did our wireless router, DVD player and DVD collection in the drawers. So the TV bench has now gone to the recycling depot. Not exactly the kind of downsizing we’d been considering.

He did pay for a new one and this afternoon DH has been - judging from some of the language floating down the stairs - fighting a losing battle with the flat packages.

So now he’s given up for today and we’re enjoying our first gin and tonic of the evening.

    Cheers!!

I'm moving from my 2800 sq. ft. house to a 975 sq. ft. apartment.

Should I list my home with a realtor before moving to the apartment?

I have a lot of items I won't be needing anymore, so I'm also planning an estate sale.

Can a realtor show a home before it's vacated?

These are things I'll have to do with nobody to help.

I'll also need help disamantling that huge 128 foot railroad which runs around the walls of my game room. It's bolted to the walls of the room!

Are you planning to store the railroad or sell it?

Sell it, engines and rolling stock only. The trackage would be of no use after unspiking it from the plywood sheets. These flexible track segments were all individually curved to match my layout, and were soldered at the connection points. Trying to salvage the $600 worth of track would be futile.
