Stormy weather coming. Local storm chasers have already shown us two small tornados on the ground in southwestern Oklahoma moving this way. The coming storms are-all that is on our local stations out of OKC. It could be a stormy night. Looks more like May than October. Storms have huge hail cores, Look awesome, tennis ball and baseball size hail. The whole supercell is spinning rapidly, straight winds 70 to eighty mph.
Power went off but lights came on shortly after. TV off fifteen minutes, now back on. Hail has stopped. Looks like our threat is over. Still pounding east Norman. Can’t tell for sure at night but so far have one more window knocked out. Will give a good check in the morning.
@John Brunner, Pretty good offences but little defense, Yeah that's right. We did find out we had a pretty good quarterback, untested and never played, a true freshman. He replaced our regular QB and did well.
I had three more windows knocked out. Now I need five replaced. It'll be several months. Windows not available.
Well, that's Oklahoma for you. Why insurance rates are so high. Always lots of hell and winds. Most of the trade winds come flying over Oklahoma bringing with them all the ingredients to make surface storms possible, mixes it up with the warm flow of air off the gulf of Mexico. Some years the trade winds drift up north, some years they scoot over in to the southeast part of the country and hammer it for a while.
I like to see the real young guys get to be on the national stage like that. We can understand what it must be like to be 18 and in a position like that. I know that high-scoring games like that draw crowds, but there are times that low-games with solid defenses requiring a true strategy to score can me far more entertaining. I'd apply this to baseball as well. And college ball is always better than the pros, no matter what sport you're speaking of.
Bill, I'm glad you didn't have worse damage. Not that windows knocked out isn't bad enough but at least you still have a roof over you head. Are you able to cover the windows somehow until you can get them fixed? And I don't know a thing about football.
Me either, Shirley. My son came over and watched the game with me. He said this was the first game of football he has ever watched I have storm windows over my regular windows so the inside window was not broken, just thew outside storm window. I haven't replaced those broken in April, yet. No windows available, yet. My son't aauto was damaged badly from the hail, dents all over and windshield broken.
