So after @Ken Anderson started the thread about his new percolator coffee pot, I got "pot envy" and ordered myself one from Amazon. It came and seemed defective because the lid of the grounds basket wouldn't stay in place, so I returned it. Then I ordered a different brand from Bed, Bath and Beyond and it arrived USED and disgusting, so back it went. Not being one to let anything go, I ordered another from Amazon and it arrived yesterday evening... I ordered an 8-cup size and they sent a 12-cup model. This is getting ridiculous, but now I'm determined. So I have another one coming tomorrow. The saga continues...
I suspect that my poor delivery times from Amazon.com have to do with the fact that I order from them often. While I would like to think that they would want to keep a regular customer happy, I think they're trying to save money by putting a hold on my orders until they can fill a box. Dr. Fauci's virus gave them a reason for poor service and, as far as I can see, they've made no attempt to go back to providing reasonable service. I am going to try putting things into my shopping cart but not completing the purchase more than once a week, and see if that results in better delivery times. While it would still result in a delay in the amount of time that it takes for me to get something, which I am not happy about, at least I'll have some control over it.
Just received some yoga pants delivered by Amazon today. Will be sending them back. Hem around the band where it ties is coming undone already. Dang it. Plus even tho same mfg. different type of material and do not fit well.
I ordered myself a "half done with radiation" present... a new handbag. It's coming tomorrow so woohoo. Also ordered some new winter clothes and I see that Macy's "friends and family" sale is about to start so I'll be checking that out.
Ordered a new toy Friday. . A microphone (and cable to hook it up to a guitar amplifier). Drove to the other side of town to The Guitar Center, because their webpage said they had both in stock. They didn't have either. Chose delivery to the store, hoping I can talk them into trying it out before I leave the store. Just in case. Just got notice from UPS both have been delivered. May wait 'til morning unless they call me. They seem a bit disorganize there, and too much traffic on that side of town after noon.
I'm sure it will come and hope its tomorrow like the said.Hubby hasn't touched his guitar since Thanksgiving of 2018.
I have been shopping Poshmark for gently worn North American-made jeans and tops. So far I have 9 pairs of jeans made either in the USA or Canada. Tops that fit are harder to find. Not being a biker chick either in the past or currently, I was hesitant to buy this one, but I wanted the zip front and the cropped length and it is USA-made. It makes a nice layering garment for cold days. It is soft and very comfy and my fears that the back patch for the embroidery would be a problem were unfounded
I'm just happy to find stuff made in the Americas. I bought an alpaca sleeveless sweater made in Peru last year.
I don't have Amazon Prime so for free shipping I can only get items "sold by Amazon." As they're currently not carrying Carnation Essentials in bottles, I decided to try Nestle's version of the protein drink. Plus some canned spaghetti & meatballs.
Walmart carries the Carnation Essentials in bottles and packets. They have them in the store (both at the random store the website was initially on and in my local store), and I think freight is free with a $35 purchase. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by only getting "sold by Amazon." I don't have Prime and I buy anything I want, and freight is covered if I hit the minimum ($25.) Perhaps there is a merchant or two that always charges freight, but I don't believe I've encountered them. I'm cheap enough that I'd remember
We ordered, and have received from Amazon: Brother Label Maker, Deep Fryer, Forehead Thermometer, Blood Pressure Monitor (for my wife), King Pillow (that's suppose to be great for side-sleepers), new wallet for me, new bathroom rugs (for wife's bathroom), Winter Driving Gloves (for wife) and a Double Lazy Suzan Tray. Also ordered a pair of Ladies Wrangler Jeans (for wife when we are in Vegas) and a new Men's Toiletry Bag. Suppose to be here tomorrow. Some things will be wrapped up and put under our Christmas Tree later. For most of this year, the only store we've gone into to buy something, that Walmart was out of, was Target. And, that was less than five times the entire year.
I'll have to check out those pillows. I've always been a side sleeper, and end up with a stack of pillows trying to find a comfortable fit. Pick the wrong combination and you'll get a crick in your neck that will last all day.
