I had read something a while go that said it was somewhat common for the doctor in the delivery room to make an on-the-spot decision in some situations. I'm not certain exactly how that would work...you either got ovaries (or a prostate) or you don't. At least, I guess you do.
I have a couple of cousins that are Intersex. Hermaphrodite is no longer used as it indicates a 50/50 mix that doesn't exist. Greek mythology, clear and simple. All intersex people are born as either male or female but have genitalia that resembles the other sex. This is a physical problem from birth and not to be confused with transgenders that have mental confusion and surgery. By no choice of their own, their parents face issues of should they raise a male with female-looking genitalia as a girl removing the male testes or risk dangerous hernias leaving it so the child can make their own decision at puberty. Intersex people are NOT TRANSGENDER and NOT part of the alphabet soup initial group. The activist tries to include them but most intersex people despise the transgender movement with all their generated and cultivated mental issues. They make it clear their plight in life is totally different. The word gender didn't exist until 1955 and is used these days so those with mental issues with their birth sex can deny that sex and become equal to the natural born of the other sex. They have become so brazen as to say I don't just identify with the other sex, I am the other sex. Not even intersex folks are that delusional.
