I think that this is what @Joanna Newton is talking about, @John Brunner . This is an item that is not Prime, but it offers free shipping from the seller. It usually takes a longer time to get the product than it does when you order from Prime; but it overrides the need to buy a certain amount of dollars in the order, to get free shipping.

Gotcha. The only thing I've bought along those lines has been supplements, and those have actually arrived faster than my Amazon stuff (2 day delivery shipping the same day I ordered them.)

BTW, John, the pillow my wife bought costs $55 (King size) and is a Dreamy Blue. Sold on Amazon.

    Hi Yvonne,
No, what I have is a regular old-fashioned rabbit-ears antenna. The same one I used before tv went digital (I think that's what it's called). But I had to buy a converter box from Walmart to go along with it, I think it was in 2009.

Actually, the antenna picture was just to explain what you were saying about getting items from amazon that are not prime, but include free shipping and do not require a minimum order. I had been looking at antennas for Denise’s Roku thread, so I just picked that item to show that it was free shipping without having Prime.

Turns out the Nestle version is just plain awful- tastes like chocolate-flavored water, similar to Yoo-Hoo. :(

Now that you mention it, though, I've never seen Carnation Essentials in bottles anywhere. LONG ago, I'd always purchased the powdered version in envelopes to mix with milk. These days, that would defeat the purpose- too difficult to haul gallons of milk back from the grocery store.

I'm laughing at the memory of Yoo-Hoo. Yeh, it's nasty stuff...made with real chaw-klut®.

Is this what you're looking for:

I finally found a wireless thermometer for my wood stove. I've looked off & on over the past 10 years, and don't know why I never came across this unit (the mfr. says it was released in 2014.)

This monitors temps of wood stoves, flue pipes, chimneys, and boilers (including outdoor wood-fired ones.)

The Temperature unit goes near the stove, where the temp probe plugs into it.
The Wireless Monitor can go anywhere in the house, and will be by my bed.

My primary concern has been preventing my soapstone stove from over-fire overnight while I'm asleep (get so hot it does permanent damage.) This unit has High/Low alarms, and I can monitor the temp while in bed, so won't have to get up during the night to check it.

Since I have a soapstone stove, I ordered two temperature probe styles to see which I can get to work the best:
-A magnetic surface probe meant for cast iron stoves
-A wired probe w/ring connector meant to screw to a flue pipe

The only thing I wish it had was a larger temperature display on the main unit by the stove, so I could easily monitor the temperature from anywhere in the room. But for overnight use, this will still be a significant improvement over what I'm doing now.

When I am driving, I'll buy a Yoo-Hoo every now and then, although I don't buy it by the case.

2E571238-4F6E-4A83-B467-87A313EF4BB5.jpeg My latest online purchase is a bit boring ….I bought a couple of mug rug machine embroidery designs which I’ve sewn out on my almost 22 year old sewing / embroidery machine
to find out how good that are.
This design had merry Christmas wording included in-the design but I skipped that part so I can just use them all year not just at Christmas

Now that my hair is growing back, I discovered that I don't own a bristle hairbrush. All the vent brushes I own are wide spaced for blow drying long hair. So I found a 'blast from the past' on Amazon, a Stanley Home Products hairbrush like my mother had when I was a kid. Got it yesterday.

I bought a mini hose reel complete with hose and fittings …..it’s marketed as a patio hose ,the hose part is about half the thickness of a “ normal “ hose .
I’m going to use it to water my special plants under the verandah using water from a nearby rainwater tank.
I have 7 fairly rare plants most being variegated Monstera’s that a only water with rainwater

That's a good idea for someone who does not need to wash a house or a car, Kate. What's your water supply: municipal or private well?
