I'm watching Attack Of The Giant Leeches from 1959. Low budget, stupid storyline, awful special effects, dreadful acting. I love it.

I just watched The Ghost and Mrs. Muir from 1947. I enjoy it no matter how many times I've seen it.

... just watched Werewolf In A Girl's Dormitory (Italian, 1961). It's a reform school so the girls are naughty. I'd say it was a B movie but it doesn't rate that high. Italian girls are pretty but they scare easily. Werewolf.jpg

Looks like she had some difficulty with that false eyelash placement.

... watching The Ghost Train (British, 1941). It's listed as horror but is pure comedy with that hilarious, understated British humor.

Keeping in mind that Great Britain declared war on Germany in 1939, in one scene in a railway station the passenger shown above is talking to a caged parrot, trying to get it to talk. He asks it if it can say "Heil Hitler". When the parrot won't speak he says "I guess not, with a beak like that"... clearly a reference to Jewish noses.
Racial stereotyping big time. Pretty edgy for that era and way too politically incorrect for our time.
    I'm enjoying the movie.

    Call of the Wild (1935)
Clark Gable, Loretta Young, Jack Oakie. The original black and white version, good quality on YouTube . HERE

I saw this many years ago, but forgot the plot. I was particularly interested because of time spent reading about the Klondike Goldrush, particularly the towns of Skagway, AK, and Dawson, YT (Boomtowns thread).

It's a good movie, imo. Personally I could have done with less corny humor from the Jack Oakie character.

There is a new more complicated version (2020) with Harrison Ford. But the dog, Buck, is an animation. :p:rolleyes:I would not be interested in watching an animated dog, no matter how well it was done. But I don't care for animation movies in general.

I watched The Old Man & The Gun with Robert Redford a couple days ago. It was a disappointment. It was a mostly true story of a man who escaped prison multiple times for multiple bank robberies. The parts were played so low key and laid back that it was borderline boring. It was mostly about Redford's character meeting Sissy Spacek's character and not much in the way of robberies and prison like I expected.

I watched a movie yesterday 'The Blue Knight' staring WIlliam Holden and Lee Remmic.
I was disappointed since I like Both actors. It was also 3 hours 8 minutes long.

Going tru the thread again in case we missed a good movie.
I think we are going to watch the remake of the old movie 'The Miracal Worker'.
We can't handle any horror movies.
@Beth Gallagher LOL on the eye brow thing.

We opted instead to watch the 1962 original again which is for rent only but what a difference a half of century makes. It was worth the $3.99. Helens teacher was a real miracle worker.
An interview with the real Helen Keller.
