Another inspiring true story. Although I don't like Will Or His sicko wife for what they did to their children, this was a great movie.
It cost a little more than we usually spend $5.99. but worth it.

An inspiring, true story? Not this time.
I'm watching The Blob (1958) starring Steve McQueen. It's a pure fun movie. You will like the title song 'Beware The Blob'.
Aneta Corseaut, who plays Steve's girlfriend, is better remembered as Sheriff Taylor's girlfriend on the Andy Griffith Show. She's playing a high school girl in The Blob but she was 25 then.

Today we watched "Rainman," with Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman.

It's funny watching the early days of A-List actors & actresses. I've seen that flick many times, and it always ends the same...The Blob oozes out of every opening in the diner, and they kill it with soda acid. McQueen was as superb as the role warranted.

I recall Jack Nicholson in The Terror (1963), and his acting was so bad and so wooden it made me think that someone just decided they were gonna move his career along, talent be damned. Conversely, I've seen William Shatner play the lead in Incubus (1966), with the entire dialog being in Esperanto, and marvel at the intelligence it took to accomplish that and wonder why he struggled so in his career. He played the lead in 2 of the most iconic Twilight Zone episodes ever.

    Sorry for meandering.

You andering is forgiveable. Nicholson was truly bad in that bad movie, agreed. Even Karloff couldn't save it.

I remember the one where Shatner is the only one who sees the engine on fire.

Edit: ... or was it some goblin tearing the engine apart?

I just read about The Terror. It ended up being a 9 month nightmare that was only supposed to take a few days to shoot because they borrowed footage from another movie. Karloff was done filming his parts in 2 days. How did Nicholson get any work after that stiff performance? It was less than amateurish.

Regarding Shatner: Yes, it was the goblin tearing the engine apart. The other episode was in the diner of a strange town with his wife waiting for their car to be repaired, and he could not tear himself away from the penny fortune telling machine...it had a devil's head mounted on a spring and seemed to directly answer each of his questions.

Oh, yes, I remember another where he's in some diner while his car is repaired and some machine is foretelling the future, or something.
I get the feeling we watched entirely too much tv.

It was Twilight Zone. More educational than Sesame Street...

I also enjoyed The Outer Limits. There were a few exceptional episodes. One with David Mcallam (spelling) comes to mind, where he is forcefully evolved to a future superior being, I think. It's a bit vague, now.

I'm looking for a movie to watch now but don't like violence or horror or agenda pushing, so it is hard to find a movie for us.

Thanks, I may just do that later. Haven't seen a Pink Panther movie in several decades.
