I have not. I am undecided after watching the trailer. It is rated science fiction but the awaking in a dumb-down world 2505 (I think 2025 is closer to being right) sounds much too factual and not funny. I may watch "Little House of Horrors" again as the last time I watched it, I was at the root canal specialist that had googles to wear to watch movies while they work. I admit it was a poor selection on my part, considering the circumstances, but after a sleepless drugged-up night of pushing puss out of my infected moral, I thought it might be fun to watch Steve Martin playing a root canal dentist. It was not! Now gumming it perhaps I can see the humor in it.
You might enjoy a comedy I just rewatched - Hot Fuzz from 2007. It's free on Youtube. The dialogue is clever and funny throughout and the plot is completely ridiculous.
Right now I am watching Route 66. It is a documentary and I am really loving it. I have traveled all of 66 from Okla. to Calif. back in the day.
I hitchhiked across the country 4 or 5 times. I've been on part of 66 but usually traveled the major interstates - just more traffic and more rides. The part of 66 I've been on was a two-lane road through little towns in the midwest. I've hitched on Rts. 40, 70 and 80. I've lived in California, Oregon and Texas.
I might dig a DVD out to watch cause hubby is watching the Grand Prix which is on in Melbourne Victoria this weekend.
I like sorta romantic drama movies @Marie Mallery so I might look that one up ….thanks We are sorta lucky we have a seperate lounge room off the main passage in the house where hubs can watch his motor racing and a family room at the back of the house where and I’ve got peace and quiet out in-the family room while he’s watching that …….normally we spend time watching TV together in family room.
There should be a TV thread under the Entertainment topic. I've been watching old Rockford Files and Columbo. Enjoyable.
I was also deducted by aliens. Now people say my sense of humor is alien to them. I'm not sure what they mean.
Hey, man. I was gonna comment on your "Rockford Files and Columbo" comment. I was living with my father for a couple of years when Rockford Files was on. He liked the show, but I've always been neutral on James Garner (Rockford and Maverick.) Dunno why. All of his roles were so laid back, although by all accounts he really enjoyed his career. I've seen Falk in earlier roles, mostly Twilight Zone stuff. I, too, like Columbo. Columbo pretends to be Dr. Watson throughout the show but is really Holmes in disguise. "Just one more thing..." Sometimes the show got corny, like the episode where he picks up the tuba and plays exceptionally well. You gotta wonder what they were thinking besides "We need 2 minutes of filler." In America, just about any show based on law enforcement or the judicial system is a winner, huh? It's kind of a weird thing to turn into entertainment, but just try to list all of the successful crime shows. There's a ton of them.
Columbo playing tuba? ... and well? I missed that episode. Columbo playing some childish piano, maybe. The tuba player thing doesn't work.
