I had my own recipe homemade carrot/garlic soup last night. it was OK but not something I will make again. I haven't decided for today, but I am leaning strongly toward old fashion potato bread soaked in home rendered beef broth and topped with chopped brisket. Maybe some applesauce to add to digestion and intestinal pleasantness.
Spaghetti and sausage, with a small glass of red wine. Yes, I'm having a small glass. Wow, miracles will never stop! LOL
"Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie" and salad. Here's the recipe from Betty Crocker... https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipe...rger-pie/8c78aa78-c368-40fa-8a88-1654640c7525
In about an hour, I will go downstairs and make up a batch of beef and noodles as a first step in getting meals back in rotation (i.e., at least two or three batches of leftovers in the fridge for reheating). I totally fell off the food wagon yesterday and had to go out for dinner. Going out was painful, having to deal with many kinds of bread, a huge salad, cup of clam chowder and dover sole stuffed with crab meat in a lobster sauce. As tasty as that seafood meal was, I still like vegetable beef dishes as the best regular fare. My farm town kid's midwest taste buds were probably programmed that way, given that the only edible thing that came out of the water where I grew up was fried catfish and it wasn't all that good unless drowned in tarter sauce.
Leftovers from Wednesday... pot roast with potatoes and carrots. Made some biscuits, sliced a cucumber and a tomato to have with it.
gravy , mashed potatoes and fried chicken breast pieces. If I do not make to tomorrow, just know, I loved every bite- and passed away happy ☺
I've had a relatively heavy lunch the past few days, so dinners have been salad with cheese & crackers. Today is no different.
Yesterday, I had no idea abut supper other than we were supposed to go over to the kid's place for the meal. Well, the food was different and included potstickers, pesto chick pieces, and bacon-wrapped scallops, served with a bit of Riesling wine. Now I don't know if that kind of a meal is considered hoity-toity, avant-garde or just weird. I gobbled down the food but left most of the wine. To me, that kind of fare would pair better with a cold beer. Supper tonight is going to be the tradition Easter ham.
I like all of those foods your kids served, but not together like that...unless there is some theme I'm missing.
I don't think you're missing anything. I thought the meal was wierd; however, I was hungry and everything tasted good going down. .
Easter Sunday supper-a very small chuck roast, with asparagus saute with bacon bits and onions, green beans, um another veggie of some kind. Probably finish off my butter cake with, peanut butter topping.
