Mitzi, Lillian, JJ are we all decided on seeking the answer to the whereabouts of Flight 217.. the five Avengers that vanished from radar over the Triangle in 1945. As we appear to be lost in this strange time warp we may as well make the most of it. Once Ritchie had his answer, he put The Lady into full throttle then hurtled towards the unknown of this strange land. Saying as he did, that if they had not found any sign of Flight 217 within five days then they wont tempt fate any further.. "That is if we can find a way to return to our time" said Lillian. We all had a to concur and a blanket of unease settled over the four intrepid adventurers.....
"Agreed, Richie, let's look for the five lost Avengers. That storm was ferocious with the giant waves that we kept ploughing through, hour after hour. Our compasses and GPS's going crazy. We were exhausted but slowly dawn came and the seas calmed and Even tired, the smell of fried bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast coming up from the galley. It was our lost crew of William, Mario and Carlos. I was dumbfounded at their sudden reappearance again, especially given their nonchalance and naivety about fluctuating realities? I posited the notion of paralell universes to all that I'd read alot about in my youth (with Marvelous Comics). Multiverses even. William nodded sagely as we shared tales of recent past times. It was unsettling for most but Carlos remembered the big Spanish Mackerel I caught and there it was still in the freezer. All agreed this is one wild ride with Captain Richie.
..and a massive spike to our cholesterol levels.. ha ha. After coming to grips with the 'here now and gone again' trio The Lady headed off again with its skipper determined to find Flight 217. A solution to this 85 year old mystery had also piqued Lillian's scientific curiosity. She also furnished us with an idea to return us to our time if after five days we had not found the lost airplanes......
..and find Flight 217 we did on the third day. JJ worked his movie camera overtime and this time the proof remained for the world to see. The four of us were elated that we had finally solved one of our planet's greatest mysteries. We will be famous. The airplanes, same as the ships were in manufactures condition, but unlike the ships there was no life or death still in the cockpits. Where were the pilots we had two days to find them and possibly return them to our time....
While the five of us continued on foot Lillian and Mitzi stayed on The Lady. Lillian was determined to use her physics background and knowledge of transporting matter from one place to another to find a plausible way of returning us back to our time.....
JJ remembered the story that Pan Am Flight 217 was a Boeing 707 that crashed near Caracas, Venezuela while on a flight from New York City, USA on December 12, 1968. Though pilot error was thought to blame, the National Transportation Safety Board concluded the probable cause was undetermined. There were no survivors. Or maybe there were survivors sucked into a temporal vortex within the Bermuda triangle. We've certainly witnessed some these weird phenomena ourselves.
Silly me has been calling it Flight 217 when the Avenger squadron that vanished in 1945 was of course Flight 19, said Richie. How are your matter transference experiments going Lillian. If they are likely to be positive I say we abandon our search for the pilots of Flight 19 JJ.....
Waste of time as Shirley is no longer taking part. May as well call time on this story. Terry you have not answered my PM.
I have been busier than usual the last few days due to the hospitalization and death of a member of my extended family. The weather forecasters say that there is another powerful hurricane headed our way. They advise all ships to get to safe harbor as quickly as possible. We are not too far from Cuba. Do y'all think it would be safe to seek refuge there? The communists are still in control there and we may be taken hostage.
Cuba is ok by me. I'd rather see us dock there than face a powerful hurricane even in this fine boat and with our Captain Courageous Richie... I think Cuban Communism has mellowed over the decades and we'd be unlucky to get into trouble there. Still, best to radio US authorities to let them know if we go to Cuba. They speak Spanish there so our Carlos and Mario can interpret for us. I have a little Spanish but most Cubans speak English. Best we should tell them the truth and ask them to resupply us. Mario suggested a $600 bribe should do, per day, to dock the Lady in Cuba near the Devil's Triangle. I'm happy to pay Richie; they prefer US dollars in cash notes which I have enough of hidden in that black silk bag, all locked in your safe. We can film it all too with permission to film, with a multiligal Guide?? More bribes and backhanders..Carlos nodded. "I'm happy to pay the usual bribes. US dollars too! I bet they have many tales to tell." I said. William, Lillian's very smart assistant, can take turns with my movie camera. Anyone can, it's tough, smart and easy to use on Auto Camera. I put in a new memory stick and carefully gave the old one to Richie suggesting it go in his boat's waterproof safe. I asked Richie to put my real Rolex to store it there for me too. What do you think Richie? Can we seek shelter in Cuba? They have nice Cigars hand rolled ... and stories to tell...Money talks even given all their Health and Dental needs all funded for free by their Society.....Cunning Communists!
Is this part of a story or fact Shirley. My sincere condolences if fact. So am I reading that Lillian was able to tele-transport us back to our world and smack bang into a hurricane with out closest port for safety being the hardline Communist nation of Cuba.
The part about family member hospitalization and death is true. That's why I wasn't here for a few days. We made haste to Cuba and sailed into Havana. The sea was still calm as we approached the lighthouse. But the storm warning flags were flying on the outer areas.
We safely embarked in Havana and headed over to Sloppy Joe's Bar for a drink and meal. The people were warm and welcoming. But there was one man over at a corner table all alone. He was watching us when he thought we weren't looking. I sent William a phone message to come in and start a chat with him. He reported back by phone that the suspicious acting man had heard that we were interested in The Bermuda Triangle. He says that he has some information that he will share if we let him accompany him us. What is our next step, Guys?
