A friend used to be on the amateur tennis circuit, and she would take vinegar fro muscle cramps. As one can imagine, the web is full of both "You gotta be kidding me" and "It's a miracle cure!"

In hot weather, I can't eat anything hot or heavy. I had cottage cheese and applesauce last afternoon and for desert cherry pie and coffee ice cream.

I will be making my punch bowl salad today. On hot days (90's) we can pick at it alllllll day long. Cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, green olives...base of sweet cabbage instead of ice berg lettuce. Arugula and any weeds laying around and grated super sharp cheddar cheese. I have green onions out there but daughter does not like onions.

I think the common ingredient in mustard, pickle juice, and vinegar is the vinegar! So it stands to reason that just taking it (probably diluted in water) would work for some people. All I can say is, yellow mustard is a miracle for my muscle cramps. Thankfully I seldom have those cramps anymore as long as I keep hydrated.

I hear that. One of my friends was headed to Trader Joes to get some of their jarred SOUPS. Ugh. It's 100 freakin' degrees in the shade. My hubby wants pasta today and even that sounds unappealing. I need to dig out the pasta salad recipes.

Guess I'll pull some frozen cheese ravioli out of the freezer, and have a jar of Raos sauce with a bit of Italian sausage. At least none of that has to cook long enough to heat up the kitchen.

Grilled chicken breasts with lemon butter, creamed potatoes, sauteed green beans. Just washed a pint of blueberries to mix up a cobbler for later.

Pan braised steak with mushrooms, mashed potatoes with gravy, and steamed broccoli. I've been thinking of making either a coconut cake with coconut buttercream icing or a chocolate amaretto cake with amaretto buttercream icing. But if I decide to bake, I will need to pawn some of it off on the neighbors or we will eat it all!! It doesn't matter if I freeze some of the slices, we know it's there....calling!:D

My grandkids came one time and were sooooo excited that I had 'pulled pork' for dinner. It was just a nice pork roast in the crock pot cooked for 3 or 4 days:D. Why do they call it pulled pork I wonder?

For some crazy reason we wanted pot roast with carrots and potatoes today. So I'm about to go add the vegetables to the pot and make salad.
