Peak: I went by my local Mom & Pop eatery and picked up a Seafood Platter for lunch:
    -Flounder
    -Clam strips
    -Breaded shrimp
    -Onion rings
    -Slaw

Out the door for $9.12/including tax. I'll get two meals out of it.

Pit: I saw another Consumer Cellular commercial with Ted Dansen in it.

    Ted Dansen.jpg

In Ted's defense, he was 38 when Cheers started and 49 when it ended...and it ended almost 30 years ago!
Sam seemed much younger than that in the show.

Makes me glad I was never in entertainment. Damned reruns are the modern version of Dorian Gray.

Friday night hubby accidentally took his strong BP meds twice. Call doctor, monitor him literally all night to make sure his heart rate does not drop below his already very low heart rate. We made it thru the night and slept most of yesterday. I also have him appt set for the 18th to have some testing done.
We just buried his youngest brother, and his sister is on borrowed time, sooo I have to make sure and keep him going best as possible. ;)
Today we are off for a bit of family gathering. The heat is a killer here. Inside truck was 108 and outside on truck 120! Was 108 on our patio that is not even really in the sun. Think we are getting a preview of Hell

    Ain't got no peak.

The spring hinge on my eyeglasses broke and the arm fell off. I glues it on but without the pressure on that side the glasses would not stay level, and the arm fell off again. Right now I'm wearing the prior prescription...I update it every 2 years, and things are not very clear right now.

I did not start wearing glasses until I was in my 40s. I hate them.

The positive side of having frames without an arm is that it’s hard to lose them by placing them on top of your head.

If I could read that, I'd be miffed at your sarcasm.

It isn’t sarcasm when it’s true. :) The first place a senior should look for their glasses is on top of their head.

Personally, I avoid that by not putting them there to begin with.

Have you ever used two sided tape on the bridge of your glasses?

LOL!!! I'm kinda tired, so maybe you can type slower, too.

I have never put my glasses on my head. I have progressive lenses (they lie and blame everyone else for their chaos), so never take them off.

The pit was the cost of the ripe large avocado at $4.
The peak is, it is the perfect ripeness and taste, with no bruising from excessive manhandling. I always pick a ripe one from the bottom of the bin.

I assume you eat it all at once, since there's no way to keep it fresh for very long.

I ate half for lunch and the other half I sprayed with lime juice and put in a tight plastic container in the frig. I have done this before and it is just as good at supper time, but with a hint of lime.

I just wrap a half (with peel on) in plastic wrap; it will keep a day or two in the fridge. I store it cut-side down to help keep the air out.

It was bigger than the medium avocados and didn't taste as good although it was ok. The mediums are $1.50 here and are picked way too green and by the time they ripen, half of them are ruined. When the best shipments come in with ripe or near ripe ones, the buyers for all the Mexican restaurants buy them up by the box loads. What they don't serve as slices, they make guacamole at the table. Any and all getting over ripe are made into guacamole and frozen. They use that with their dinners and it is almost as good as the fresh. I had a source until Marie shut down her little cafe. I ate there at least once a week and always left with a few ripe premium avocados for a low price. Now buying at the grocery store, finding a great avocado is like winning the lotto. One wants to shout out, "holy guacamole."
