Sounds delicious (•‿•) I'd love to experience a Thanksgiving, it's seems to be a big deal in USA, it's never mentioned here though.
It is a long-standing tradition here, @Jessica Morgan , and has to do with the early settlers that first came to America several hundred years ago. When fall came, the Indians (now Native Americans) came with fall food harvests, and shared with the colonials, and they gave thanks to God for the food . Like most other traditions, this one has become more commercial than just a family celebration now; but it is still something that most Americans look forward to doing each year. It is a time of extended family all getting together, similar to how families do at Christmas, and enjoying the traditional dinner of roast turkey, and fall veggies like pumpkins and squash, and the root vegetables. Since other countries do not have that history, pretty much it is just an American tradition.
Broccoli n Noodles on Rice. I found that those cheap little entrees have great seasoning and just adding them to fresh boiled rice makes a very good meal without any cooking involved.
I hate to see the cost of Pies this year because I love those pumpkin pies, and sweet tater pie. I got my drivers license renewed this am and also my new sticker so now I can drive to the other dollar store to see if they have some of those really good fruit cakes I really love.
Sounds amazing! What I'd give to experience it for real! I have 3 cousins who live in New York, my antie emigrated there in the 60s, she came back on visits when she was on business trips but I've never met my cousins.
Grocery delivery coming in a little while. I ordered a rotisserie chicken so that will be dinner. I'll steam some green beans and new potatoes to go with it.
