Hey no worries, Teresa, I was trying to be sure and was gonna ask you more about it, if you were right.
This is where we need to do some research. My yellow evening primrose has larger flowers and is closer to the ground. But we don't have a flower like that one (what you call yellow silkweed) here.
I used my plant identifier on my iPhone app, and it says that your picture is yellow milkweed, @Jake Smith . I love this app, and it works on both real plants and photos of plants.
Thats ok ,I know it really loves to grow seeds and spread so good for butterfly's. A butterfly will lay a caterpillar on the stem and it will totally clean the leaves off and then make a cocoon and turn into a butterfly. we took pictures of the it as it happened, really interesting.
That's true Mary, flowers are bigger on primrose, and Yvonne and Marie pulled it up and it's yellow Milkweed.
The app that I have on my phone is called “Picture This, plant identifier”; but there are quite a few other similar apps that allow you to identify plants. Mine had a subscription, so I got it for a year, but then I may check some of the other ones out and see if there are any new apps.
Actually, if you have an iPhone you can look up plants in the regular Photos on your phone. Bring up a picture you made and swipe up to see the "details". There should be a "Look Up Plant" button. Voila. Details Screen: Results:
