You need to post a picture of the plants when you get them started again. I made some cranberry sauce today with orange zest... I could eat the whole bowl with a spoon. :D

Speaking of annoying critters; a squirrel keeps digging in the Norfolk pine tree I have in a pot on my front porch. I guess he's burying pecans in there from my neighbor's tree. Every other day there is another hole and a bunch of potting soil on the bricks.

I would not mind extra nut trees. When I found hickory seedlings I would bring them home and put them in planters, thinking I would raise them to be big and strong first. The chippies (or squirtles) would pull them up and eat the nut off the root, then throw the plant aside. I tried to take the nut off, gently, before planting and the critters still pulled them to see IF there was a nut on them.
I take the seeds from the holiday cranberries and put them on a damp paper towel in a baggie and park them in the fridge for a couple of months. Then I plant them in loose potting soil and keep them moist. It takes FOREVER for them to sprout. Tiny red seedlings. And they take forever to grow outside that is why I put them between some petunias or pansies. Don't know what makes them smell different to rip up.:(

I'd like to grow cranberries, but Florida may be too hot and humid for them. They are very good for us.

Pit- my daughter had excruciating chest pains yesterday, she spent an overnight in the hospital being tested. My wife and I were on pins and needles.
Peak- the EMTs did a EKG and said it was normal.
At the hospital she was giving morphine so we know the pain was real. They did an EKG and said her heart waves were flipped which is indicative of having a prior heart attack. Later a heart specialist said everything look normal but wanted to run some additional test on her arteries. They ran the test twice and found nothing wrong.
My daughter was discharged and just got home, she said they found nothing wrong with her heart but suggest that she get a GI series.
That was great news for us we were really worried and scared, also concerned about the future for our three young grandkids. We are relieved.

When I was a paramedic, I learned about more than sixty (non-trauma) things that could cause chest pains that could be mistaken for a heart attack. They are initially treated as a heart attack because that's the most serious thing that could have been the cause of the pain and because the initial treatment is unlikely to cause harm in the event that it turns out to be something else. I have gone to the emergency department twice for chest pains, and the thinking was the same. While I figured it was probably something other than a heart attack, I didn't want to run the risk of ignoring the pain.

Thank goodness she is ok at least far as heart, hope she follows up with dr. to see what caused it. I tell my kids who are all in their early 50s to take care of themselves because if they din't getting old will not be pleasant as it could be. Thank goodness 2 of them quit smoking years ago.

Our friend Harry was life flighted to hospital to find out he had heartburn. Jakes brother went in an ambulance to be diagnosed with heartburn too but the time he didn't want to go found out he was having a stroke from high BP, Jakes other brother did have a stroke from high BP. Both are ok now.
It is always good to make sure it's not serious.
Jake can just ride by a dentist office and raise his BP.

So glad your daughter's OK, Tony. You guys have had more than your share of stressful situations recently.

My Pit for today: Saw my medical oncologist, Dr. Ueno, for the last time. He has accepted a new job as Medical Director at the University of Hawaii. I'm happy for him but sad for me; I hate to see him go. I will have a new oncologist when I return in 3 months.

My Peak for today: I asked Dr. Ueno about the higher recurrence rate for IBC within the first 2 years... I have never understood exactly when the timer started on that 2 years. Is it when treatment started, treatment ended, the pathology report after surgery, or diagnosis...?? He said it's from the original diagnosis and y'all... I was diagnosed 2 YEARS AGO NEXT MONTH... woooohoooo!!!! Of course that doesn't mean I won't get a recurrence, just that the probability is much lower.

    Beth,
I'm so glad for you. You had a long tough struggle yourself and from my vantage point you're doing okay keep it up.

Thanks, Tony. I appreciated you and everyone else here who supported me during that awful time. I guess I'm just one of the "lucky" ones because my cancer responded to the treatment. All I did was show up (and whine a lot.) Hope Mrs. Tony is doing well, too.

She has her last immunotherapy last week so far so good. She will be monitored from here on in but that's it no more treatments.
You're not going to believe this but I'm writing this in the emergency room of a local hospital, my wife caught a stomach bug I believe for my grandkids and she's dehydrated and how heart pulse rate is high. Since 4:00 a.m. last night she's been heaving and has diarrhea. About 5:00 p.m. tonight I decided it's time to get it to the doctor no matter what she said. Told us to get to emergency get some fluids in her we're hoping it's that that's causing pulse rate to be high. Because of her colostomy they're going to take a CT of her intestines make sure everything is good. Right now we're waiting for the IV and the test they want to run.
All I can say is I can't wait to get home I'm exhausted.
Have to run the nurse just got.
