Sauerkraut!!!!! That's the only thing I'd have a need to make in one of those. I think my dad make root beer in the large crock we had.
I'm going to try pickling some veggies; I don't like sauerkraut. Of course the best cucumbers won't be available until next summer. I have a recipe for bread and butter pickles that I want to try. Plus the crock will be cute in my kitchen.
My mother made Bread & Butter Pickles. She also did a Mustard Pickle with cauliflower and stuff I don't remember. I think we also used the crock for Dandelion Wine.
Those are cute crocks! I use to make make bread and butter pickles, 14 day sweet pickles, and dill pickles. Dill pickles are my favorite.
Impulse purchase from a post on another website. I've always bought Walmart slippers, so decided to treat myself to these before the .gov makes me go Crypto and I can't access my funds. Made in the USA, running a 20% Off Sitewide Sale. They'll prompt you with Coupon Code holiday111 For those interested in the OluKai footwear, they are 50% off, no coupon required. I ran purchases through both sites and both came up Free Shipping for the products I had in the cart going to my address in Virginia.
Those look toasty, but you may regret that suede outsole. I am constantly walking outside with my slippers on.
I have happy feet. These have a spring around the perimeter...you gotta stretch it out to get your foot in, then the openings clamp back around your ankles for a tight seal. My living room stays hyper-toasty because of the wood stove (often in the 72°F-75°F range), but the floors in rooms at the far ends of the house can get a little chilly. Maybe I'll take my socks off...
Raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas). I used to get them at Krogers, but now that I have to shop at Walmart, they do not carry any of the raw seeds like Kroger did, so it was Amazon to the rescue. Back when I was little , my aunt was telling my mom that her cataracts had gotten so bad that she could not see well enough to get her driver’s license renewed. Somewhere, she read that pumpkin seeds would help, so she bought some and starting eating a handful or so each day. I do not remember how long she did this, but it was maybe a month or two, and she told mom that she could now see well enough to get her driver’s license again. Since the pumpkins seeds have other health benefits, and might help our eyesight also, I ordered some. I will chop them in the food processor, and add some to my morning oatmeal, and Bobby can have his however he wants, if he wants some.
