Your meals are quite inspiring and delicious sounding most of the time. But today we will pig out on traditional Christmas dinner with Chistmas COOkIES!!!! Merry Christmas Steve!
Thanks Mary.. It is also the8th night of Chanukah.. We celebrate both in our house.. Supper tonight, Christmas dinner, was a huge piece of turkey that I put on the BBQ on low heat.. No stuffing.. That was for the 2 of us and it was still way too much.. We have a bit of leftovers for tomorrow.. Baked potato...... Steamed string beans served with a sour cream/chive sauce.. Steamed sliced carrots served with butter....... Lots of veggies for this meal.. Deep dish apple/caramel pie served with my homemade whipped cream.. Very rich but delicious.. Pot of tea was truly needed after that meal..
Sounds like a good pig out holiday meal to me Our traditional meal is turkey and ham (for Hubby) mashed potatoes, rutabagas, stuffing with veggies included, last night we had fresh broccoli too. We have my gramma's delcol which is a cream cheese based pastry (cookie sized) wrapping prune butter. Very bad for us. BTW Leftovers are the goal!
One of our friends brought us over a Tortiere pie and we have been enjoying it.. It sure makes a change from our general menu..... Steamed vegetables with it goes well.. Always a pot of tea after supper .....
