I'm watching "Slugs:The Movie" (1988). The acting is sad, the effects are laughable and there is zero plot. I'm enjoying it. This was included in the blurb for the movie - Age-restricted video (based on Community Guidelines) I'm guessing that was because all of the slugs were nude throughout.
Godzilla vs Rodan - YouTube A short segment of the battle between Godzilla and Rodan from Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) without the puppet shots. Just a little experiment..... I'm thinking that this must be the silliest and shortest monster movie ever made. Godzilla would kill the French sculptor in two seconds and then the credits would roll. My dumbness was showing yet again. It's Auguste Rodin, not Rodan. I guess I'm not that good of a Thinker.
The Professor and the Madman. Mel Gibson and Sean Penn give the best performances of their careers. The best movie I've seen in a long time. I cried at the end. A must see. I saw it on Hoopla.
Into The Woods (2014) I don't usually care for musicals. I don't know what caused me to select this movie over my usual fare of horror, thriller, action or sci-fi stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a fun mix of assorted fairy tales in a silly plot with talented beautiful women, lovely songs and many funny lines. Bernadette Peters confirmed why I'm obsessed with her. As an example of the light-hearted humor, the narrator is pulled from his offstage place into the play with the result that the characters no longer know what's going to happen next. The scripted play becomes a series of real events. I want some of the drugs the writer must have taken. You might have to join Hoopla with a free membership to view it. https://www.hoopladigital.com/play/11633603
This last 4-day weekend, we watched: We Bought A Zoo (got it for Christmas) and Wonder Woman (first one/on tv) and A Dog's Journey (on tv).
... watching Bleak House (1985) with an all star cast including one of my favorite Brit actresses - Anna Martin. https://www.britbox.com/us/show/Bleak_House_FS_p045vgwj
Watched this on Netflix last night , Meryl Streep, Steve Martin Alex Baldwin ( it’s complicated ) we both agreed it’s one of the best movies we’ve seen in a long time. I’m not usually fond of Steve Martin or his movies , but he was really good in this movie We thought it was unusual for him to be in a love story type of movie https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1230414/
For any Stephen King fans who enjoyed The Shining with Jack Nicholson, you might be interested to know that King did not like that movie interpretation of his book at all. He was so disappointed in the film that he had a remake released as a TV mini-series in 1997. I searched all over the place to find it and didn't want to pay to buy it on DVD. A search led me to Reddit, where someone had posted this link that still works. https://archive.org/details/the-shining-1997-part-3/The+Shining+1997+Part+1.avi It may also be on Youtube but in separate episodes. Here's a trailer for the series...
