I agree they killed but not so sure it was murder, yet, Accidental killing during an arrest. I do agree that at least one of them should have stood up and tried to stop it. Maybe he was death or didn't understand English or was cruising for a bruising to sue, only it didn't turn out like he hoped. After these past couple years of rioting and destruction by all these poor little pitiful thugs and thuggetts, I'm saying don't be a big shot alone. And in a town without pity you lose some. 10 people can see the same thing and five 10 different stories.
I'm finding that to be true in this thread. I wonder if y'all are watching the same video I watched, because Tyre did not seem to be a "thug" at all. He was a terrified young man. And he was murdered.
I do need to watch this again for sure. Otherwise, he must've be death and blind terrified young man. Since he followed not one command given him.
How would he know which "command" to follow? The were ALL yelling at him. And I'll admit that I did NOT watch the entire video...none of them. I watched several seconds of one where they first had him down and he managed to get up and run, then I turned it off.
Beth then you don't know what went on. He was either on drugs or just a very foolish young mna who was killed from his and their actions. Did you watch the video of how to act when pulled over, he broke every rule.
Lets just see what else they find out and then debate. So far not much is released. I read biden called his mother before it was even in the news.
Marie, that video is posted twice in this thread and I don't plan to watch it. I prefer to discuss topics and get tired of scrolling past videos. Any reasonable person knows how to conduct themselves when stopped by the police.
Beth this one isn't that violent its the traffic stop. Note he was pulled over with cops in front and behind him, It is a short one of traffic stop.
I have no interest in watching more videos, Marie. I did hear something absurd a few minutes ago, though. They are looking at charging the EMS guys who were on the scene??? What?? I would "assume" they could not interfere or move Tyre until told to do so by the police. I need to find out more about his; it just sounds so stupid.
The open question is: were the five cops really like the Red Dogs, or were the circumstances different. I can accept that the outcomes were perhaps the same, but does it appear to you, from the videos we've seen so far (which seem pretty vague) that the five policemen were engaging in Red Dog type intent by plan, or was it simply hot blood because of the resistance and failure to comply.
Nothing surprises me anymore. They went from reckless driving stop to " suspected " wreckless driving.
You understand that if you won't watch it, everything you think you know is hearsay, right? So it would take you out of the class of "informed opinion" to "speculative opinion".
The Red Dogs have been disbanded but do note that the team members were comprised of cops from all over the nation who had s propensity for stretching the arm of the law. Now, whether or not that type of police work was being done in this case is anyone’s guess. Note: Do forgive me one and all for writing that if there is only one good that is coming out of the whole thing, it’s good that the 5 cops weren’t white.
I noticed all of the CYA talk after the incident too, with cops talking about the guy going for his gun, or about how hard he fought them, and so on. Therein is a related problem that I brought up in another thread. While every attempt is made to justify the actions of a cop, whether it be shooting someone with a cell phone or shooting someone in the back for threatening to kill himself, which occurred recently, the opposite occurs when a citizen uses a weapon. While I can appreciate that, in the heat of the moment, with seconds to make a decision, someone pulling a cell phone out of his pocket could reasonably be seen as a weapon, no citizen is ever going to be given that benefit of the doubt. The same cops who we often try to excuse will arrest that citizen for his honest mistake, and he'll be prosecuted for the most that they think can get. It looked to me like he ran in an attempt to save his life. He was beaten before he ran as well as after. In this case, however, they didn't ask the usual questions, or even for a driver's license, unless they didn't release that part of the body cam. They just opened the door, dragged him out, and started beating him. He wasn't given the chance to conduct himself appropriately. As they drag him out, he's yelling, "I didn't do anything!"
