I’m fed up with group think of all types. This country is supposed to be about individual liberty. When that is truly respected, there is no need to participate in the mob of the month.

Look at how some fabricated group gets all this attention and generates all this animosity…all by design. I guess the idea if for us to treat each other as objects.

It’s much too hard to turn individuals against each other. Push them into a collective; it’s much easier to manipulate a tribe against another tribe than all those people against each other individually.

Yup. I can get real spun up about a concept, but I find it difficult to feel that way about any human being standing in front of me.

weren’t these dividers once telling us that we needed to share a coke with each other?

Wow, this thread is upsetting. The ignorance, lack of empathy and intolerance in these comments is disgusting. It's one thing disagree to that trans people should be celebrated with a special day, but it's an entirely different thing to disparage them, calling them mentally ill, a threat to children, etc. The bigotry here is astounding. If you don't like trans people, don't go where they hang out. If you think they somehow corrupt children, keep children away from them. Their presence in society does not affect your life at all. Same with any other LGTQ+ folks. Just let them be and live your own life. They are human beings, too.

Well, that's just the problem, Jaspurr. "They" want to shove their lifestyle down our throats. Personally I'm not interested in anyone's sexual proclivities and I'd prefer that they just kept it to themselves.

In the realm of bigotry, one must have an “unreasonable” reason to be prejudiced against a group or person.

Is it unreasonable to be against those people who approve of the genetic mutilation of children based on a parent’s whims? Is it also unreasonable to be against people who somehow think that children can make a knowledgeable decision concerning their own gender?
Would it be unreasonable if a person didn’t like the idea of males going into a female’s locker room or restroom?
How unreasonable is it to make the statement that a biological male shouldn’t compete in a women’s sport?

Personally, I do not think anyone here is against anyone in the alphabetic movement for what they believe themselves to be but that said, to tell me that I have to believe certain aspects that defy logic and reasoning is absurd and does provoke some angst, not bigotry.
As I have written many times, I do not care what someone does with their genitalia except if they wave it in front of my face and attempt to make me believe something I do not especially if that belief involves something that is biologically impossible.

To me, it isn’t that anyone dislikes the alternatives believing person but rather that in today’s society, 1% of the population is now making the rules for the other 99% and we have to somehow like and accept those rules.
It is far better to shake my hand and form a dialog than it is to try to yank me up by the collar and tell me I have to like it.

No, they just want to be treated with respect and dignity. No will force you to be trans. I promise.

Not trying to make a big issue out of it but somehow there’s a giant mixup here.

I have always respected those who deserved respect. Just being a trans or a soldier or a policeman for that matter doesn’t warrant respect. I may respect K. Jenner because he’s seemingly a respectable person, not because he’s trans. I could care less about what he proclaims his gender to be.

I find it hard to respect adjectives. I do however respect many nouns.

Um...soldier and police officer are professions/jobs. That's just a bit different from being trans, which is a sexual identity. Nice bit of flawed logic you've used there. LOL How about respecting people at the outset, until they give you reason not to?

Do you know anyone who is trans? I do, and from speaking to them, I have a good understanding of the nastiness they endure from judgmental, ignorant people who have no idea how they've struggled with their sexual identity. And it ain't pretty. They don't deserve that kind of treatment. No one does.

No one is, as you say, waving their genitals in your face, are they? If anyone ever does, yes, you have a reason to disrespect them. If not, don't worry about it and live your own life.

"1% of the population is now making the rules for the other 99% and we have to somehow like and accept those rules." What specific rules are you talking about?

Oh yes. I see your point about respect and dignity.

I have no fear that anyone would force me to do anything, but thanks for the patronizing comment.

Four of them are posted in the same post you quoted Jaipurr. Women HAVE to accept men in women’s college sports. We HAVE to accept males in female locker rooms etc.
Moreover, in some schools, parents HAVE to accept that their 3rd grade children are being sexually indoctrinated or pay for a private school or home school.

Now, I do understand that you might just have some stake in the game or know someone who does. I too have known a LOT of people on other spectrums of sexuality and a couple of them were/are just plain evil whilst others are people I can easily say were friends but either way, their character profile didn’t have anything to do with their proclaimed sexuality.

My logic is rarely flawed and now isn’t one of the times when it is.
You’re asking me to respect a person based on sexuality. Why? Cannot a trans also be a rapist, a murderer, a thief?
I respect a person for what his character denotes, not his or her sex.

And yes, I owned two restaurants in the New Orleans French Quarter and sold them for a nice penny or two so yeah, I have know hundreds of those listed in the alphabet group and as a matter of fact, I knew every one of those killed in the Upstairs Lounge fire.
One story, as a matter of fact, is about a trans black fellow who came in every night when I tended bar. For whatever reason unknown to anyone, he / she disappeared for about 6 months.
When he did reappear, dressed to kill I might add, Jackie asked me to escort him / her to the back so, now firmly she, could show me her new look.
Yup….sex change. To be honest, it did surprise me but it didn’t change our friendship. If she is still around, she was and probably is a good person.
