I guess it is confusing but there’s nothing wrong with the design of the system for to me, it’s the best system in the world. Unfortunately, not unlike a great machine with the very best attributes, whether out of ignorance for not having read the instruction manual, ego or for personal gain, it is those who operate said machine that screw things up. Edit: Believe it or not, there are those who have been voted into high positions in government who have never taken a civics class nor read the Constitution.
I don't understand the relevance of your statement. Justices are supposed to be non-partisan in their decisions, but that certainly has not been true of the Left side of the Court in recent years.
I think the key words here are "supposed to be." I have trouble believing that the Justices who are Republicans don't let their political bent influence their decisions. A recent example is when they overturned Roe v Wade. I have to think that their conservative values and likely their religious convictions influenced that decision.
I think America is an experiment in whether humans are competent to govern themselves. Sometimes I think not.
America is the greatest country on earth. We have the right to free speech and we use it. For all the country's flaws, there is nowhere else that comes close.
Oh, I think Canada comes pretty close in terms of free speech. We are not a super power on the world stage like the U.S. is, but we're always near the top of various lists of "best countries," by various qualifications.
The only reason Roe v Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court is that abortion wasn’t supposed to be a Federal issue to begin with. It’s a given that many see it the way you do but that’s simply not the case. The SCOTUS messed it up so they had to finally come together and clean it up by returning those decisions to the individual states.
No, ma'am. Our government was totally right to stop those idiots, and the results of the recent inquiry confirms this.
No, it's not a competition, but it is not accurate to claim that no other country comes close to how great you think the U.S. is.
