I hope this is the last rant report on the repair of my best computer taking 6 months to rebuild it. You know my last complaint and gripe was it would not run dual channel more than one stick of ram. I read all over the internet on the particular hardware I have and found a post mentioning Linus a youtube tech specialist from Britain, he stated to someone that the particular hardware or cooling fan in my case if tightened a bit too tight it would cause the cpu to throttle because of lack of contact of some pins due to flexing of the motherboard, and the answer was to loosen the cooler. I thought about that this morning at coffee time knowing I was getting ready to start reassembling the parts I used from my other two good ryzen amd machines to diagnose all these problems with this rebuild. So I did loosen the screws and they are spring loaded so it is easy for someone to over tighten them. Low and behold I now have two channels working and I had to drop the dram speed down a few notches because I had a time out error once again. I loaded one of my adobe products and it said I needed to set the tdr timeout levels which there are two in the registry and set them from 2 to 60 seconds making the system wait for a program to have time to finish rendering something before faulting. I was already familiar with this but I did that and there was no entry so the adobe program is happy and many others would also like it. I am going to spend the day rerouting all my wiring again and anchoring and zip tying things back as they were before I had to undo all the wiring to do all the work I've done. So at this time it runs as it should and fast as it should. I need a break from this machine and the first thing I plan on doing is reinstalling my Tank simulator and get it reinstalled with all the latest updates. I paid 175 dollars for that simulator and it is used in Armor training for many world wide Armies because it is so accurate in all it does. Lots of fun and I found as a tank gunner I couldn't hit squat !!!

It ain't like fixing a toaster, is it? I've built a few desktops, and always struggled with loading the operating system...and it was always a legit license I paid for.

On April 6 I received an monthly email regarding our home security usually I skim over it but on this day I decided to login to my account and I couldn't. Authorization failed was the message. I spent several minutes until I finally called customer service. It is now April 10 and still it hasn't been resolved. I was asked to use another email and I said no and that was on the third day. I hear from customer service today still again no resolution. Now what they don't know is that when I have time to think about stuff especially problems like this I eventually get pissed off. Why should I give them another email address when it's obvious that the problem is on their end? There's nothing wrong with my email address if I'm receiving messages from customer support just fine. So whatever department (technical) is sending the password reset link the problem lies there. So again I responded I'm not using another email address to get this solved.

I have been having trouble resetting passwords also lately. I wonder what is happening. Wife had a terrible time with both Facebook and her Yahoo account.

Whenever I login and can't, I automatically reset my password to a new one which is what I was going to do. I knew it was time to change it anyway. I feel like I'm paying for the service which includes technical support and now that I'm upset about it I refuse to make it easy for them.

A quick web search did not turn up anything about this being some wide-spread issue, Don...for what that's worth.

Yup. You and I are much the same on this. Don't send me satisfaction surveys when all you've done is cash my checks quickly (looking at YOU, Allstate!)

The question is , that request for another email and any information not a scam or phishing attempt. They don't know your email is a bit fishy to me. If they were using your email for logging they still need a password and having contact with you through your real original email they could get the password if you do make another email address because it will ask for a password and you would be giving it to the scammer. Call the company by phone and not a phone number listed on these first email conversations from the unknown. Make sure you call the company phone number. If your log in has been shut down it could be that it was clamped down because a scammer was attempting to use a lot of passwords. You won't know until the company speaks with you and most likely you would just make a stronger password. It just sounds fishy to me that the company would tell you to make out a new email by them using your email. Most companies would not request any personal information online. :D

I did call the company directly. They have security questions to ask before even talking about wrong you are calling for. They had to jog my memory because I kept getting it wrong. :(

So my overpriced extension pole was delivered today so I can stand on the ground and wash the upstairs windows. I couldn't wait to test it out so I dragged out my bucket, wrestled the water hose to the side of the house, mixed up my cleaning solution, and assembled the mop-head thing to the extension pole. Then I went upstairs to remove the window screen which is when "the fight started.":mad::mad:

Our window screens have those stupid plastic tabs and the spring-type gizmo on the opposite side of the frame that holds the screen in place. Of course after a few years those are cemented into place and the plastic tabs get brittle. I know you see where this is going so I'll just say that the windows did not get washed today.:mad::mad::mad:

I need a clean putty knife and a more relaxed attitude before I resume. Stupid window screens.

You should have bought that cleaner that can clean without removing the screens. I forget the name of it but they were advertising on TV very often just a year ago. You get an attachment for the hose and mixture bottle for the attachment. I think it said one bottle of cleaner was good for 20 windows.

I have tried a few of those, Thomas. (Save your money.) We also recently had the house power-washed and some type of bleach solution applied; the windows on the north side of the house have some kind of mildew on them behind the screens. The screens are just going to have to come off.

In 1972 I was working at Memorial Lincoln Mercury and one of my buddies was the electrician. He was painting houses on the side and would go out after work and paint houses. I helped him for a while and he always made me climb that two story ladder to do all the eves and very high places. I don't have a fear of height so I didn't mind it. Worst most dangerous job was working as a derrick man, I would be up at the top on a little perch like a tight rope walker but I did have a safety belt on because I would need to bend way over to shove the drill stem into the kelly and it never stopped but to a slow speed then up and up. I had to physically shove the drill stem over to the side of the cage and tie it off. We were off for new years eve and I was very sick with a terrible cold so I did not go to work for about a week and I learned that the rig had fell over sideways due to a large sink hole developing around the casing. They knew it was dangerous but risk our lives without telling us about it. They set the casing on New Years eve before we left for the holiday. It collapsed all around the casing and brown and root came out and filled the hole and built a wooden platform around the rig area. It did not help and luckily none of the guys were injured.
