Our nearby Costco Gas for regular is $4.05/gallon. I am no longer a member but should get on board again maybe... $3.20 I would like to see here locally, anywhere at all.
I had two Pickle Loaf sammi s.... with that mysterious substance that made me gain 9 pounds since my last weigh in at the clinic. The substance goes by the trade name "Bunny Bread" oh so gooood.
They spoiled me in 1970 when they would have the gas wars and it was as low as 21 cents a gallon. People would not believe me today if I told them that. In 74 it wasn't expensive it was just not to be found any place. I worked on the opposite side of town I lived on and was driving home one afternoon after work and ran out of gas on the freeway because there were no stations that had gas. I was on the inside lane up against the guardrail and I stood there a moment and thought about my predicament then remembered my friends I had worked with further down the freeway at Tom Peacock Chevrolet. I called my friend and luckily caught him before he left the job. He brought me 5 gallons of gas taken from the storage tank at the Chevy place which was used for the new cars. It cost me nothing and I poured in the gas and made it home. I will never forget that and the friend his name was Phil Parker. In the late 70s he became the first service manager at the newest Cadillac dealer on the south side of Houston. He was driving his Red Chevrolet convertible with the top down and smoking a big cigar heh..
Yeah, it was the 19 cents a gallon for gas around 1969 in Colorado that caused me to get married at 19 to legally lose my virginity. I refer to it as my history of 19 and how the number 69 came into play. To return the topic to what I had for lunch, I must say I haven't decided yet. It won't be the left over pizza because of this discussion and my remembering my first vomit, after becoming pregnant, shortly after having lunch at a small pizza place.
Those Pickle Loaf Sammis' are really good, and the mysterious substance too I tried a 'wheat' Bunny Bread recently which was one I will get again...
I took a friend in to a doctor appointment and to do some grocery shopping, and she bought me lunch. Chinese buffet, baby.
Sammi s again but I don't cook a lot, I had a nice nap and when I got up I had Chili and Beans over some nice small cut noodles. That was really good. Yesterday I ate all garbage and paid for it last night and most of the day today. I ate a bag of spice drops, then a bag of cheese puffs, a banana and that was it.
When my mother made spaghetti sauce with rice, she called it Spanish Rice. Sometimes she made it with elbow macaroni. The only fancy name I could find was American Goulash. Anyway that's what I had yesterday for lunch, dinner, and breakfast this morning. It was good all 3 times.
Leftover potato salad. I always make too much so today between my lunch and taking the remainder to a Mamas day get together, it should disappear. It was excellent but 6 times in a row is a bit much.
I had a Caesar salad with a deviled egg and half of an avocado. I was gifted a Tres Leches Mother’s Day cake; so Bobby and I both had that with our coffee…..Dee-licious ! ! Now, off to swimming this afternoon and work off some of the cake calories.
