More of a hack off thing vs rant. People of all ages but especially us older ones who always want to tell you about someone they know - that has died or is ill or may die soon. Why do I need to know this? Especially if I seldom hear from you, but then out of the blue you gotta tell me all the grim stuff. I my have hacked another off by telling them...hey your gonna die get over it.. just try and enjoy yourself while your here. End of story.
Still dealing with this BS from my DMV telling me I owe them 125 dollars for an 8 day lapse in auto insurance. Geico sent them the wrong cancellation date after my changing my insurer to Progressive. It simply shows that it was canceled 8 days before the new Progressive policy which was totally wrong. They made a correction and said they would send it to the DMV but I don't trust them with anything because mistakes like this are not supposed to happen to begin with, they are operating under federal and state laws and in the end it is always the insured person who receives the penalties for their mistakes. So I got all the correction documents and initial new policy from Progressive with the proper date and if they can't figure that out for themselves then there is no justice. I do know one thing, I don't plan on paying 125 dollars to anyone that I don't owe. They reinstated the policy and then issued a proper dated cancellation. Cost me 20 dollars but only because it would be the last amount needed to close the account as paid. You can't get anything done today in this country all they care about is taking that money each month until you are dead. They are so sorry they won't send new ID cards unless you request them each end of payment cycle. Something that should be automatic and probably is under law, but they found a way to save more stolen money by not giving the service you pay for. I don't like any of those companies they are all crooks and wouldn't be doing this had they not paid off all the congress and senate to get this illegal insurance BS. This is what happens when everyone you elect is usually a lawyer. There was a time if you accidentally ran into a ditch it was no crime, today it is called failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle. How do you control the vehicle if your going into a ditch. ? Word play. This country in my life time has completely gone to s_it. When you walk out your door each day be sure and have a check list of all the laws that you must follow. You will find several that makes you a criminal in the eyes of the law. A bald tire, a rear license plate bent just enough it can't be read from the policeman s view. I actually got stopped from a Texas Trooper coming from the opposite direction around a wide curve, my Buick Centurion front tag was already low to the ground due to the bumper design but a parking cement bumper had pushed the tag forward just enough it could not be seen , so says the Trooper. No ticket because it would have been one thrown out no doubt. It just shows the level of stupidity of some people. This trooper really had a bad attitude from the get go, very unfriendly and a pure asshole. Almost as bad as that Houston cop that wanted to write a ticket to my friend for a bald tire, and the cops car had a burned out headlight. Friend politely pointed that out to him and cop just tore up the ticket and left.
Get everything you can in writing. I even print out stuff from emails that might be needed in the future. There are days I would LOVE to have a fight and welcome nerfballs. But others where it is just plain annoying. Every social transaction comes with the risks of screw ups. Even kids at the registers who can't make change in their heads. And we are becoming more crowded increasing the risks.
Geico's ID card showed the cancellation date in May and I had opened a new policy with Progressive on the 27th of April. Somehow the state believes I was without insurance for 8 days which is totally incorrect and the policy and payment is the proof, I had double insurance on the 27th april both Progressive and Geico carried the policy at that time. Geico sent a cancellation notice with the date happening in May and I don't know who screwed up but it wasn't me and until I hear from the DMV I won't know what is said. According to Progressive they notified the state of the new policy so someone is not getting the information . Today my local DMV does not take care of blocks or cancellations, only the main DMV does that and I use online which takes a while due to under staffing by the state. My last information sent this morning should clear it up showing cancelation occurred on the 5th of May and not the 27th of April. It's hard to keep up with these insurance companies. I still haven't understood how they screwed it up.
All insurance companies suck. Having a lizard as a mascot is about the most honest thing they have done.
This must be "let's all screw old Tom week"..... I had turned on a supposedly trial time of amazon music unlimited, only used it several times and enough to know I really did not need it so I stopped long before end of trial. Today I am looking at my bank account and email to see if my DMV has responded and I had a 10.99 charge from amazon for that music service. It took me an hour to finally get a human representative to get the amount refunded back to my bank account. I have seen this tactic used for 20 years now on trial offers but usually at end of an trial you would be ask to continue or discontinue since normally you would have to input banking info. I guess since Amazon already has the information they could pull that old check kiting ploy on music services. I finally talked to a person and after explaining things she wanted to hand me off to another section in music, I told her if my 10 bucks was not refunded to my bank account I was going to close my amazon account again. I did that before for having problems and not having issues taken care of. I don't want anything for free but I expect to treated legally and not stealing 11 bucks. That put an end to her wanting to send me to another department. It is taken care of and usually I would have never had to go this far for such a cheap and simple thing. I hate it when we all become targets for a scam and just recently they have been sued by one AG for the same tactics with their prime service. I don't have prime because it cost too much for a person like myself and just bad math. I have no issues with amazon like I do with newegg and they have never tried this on anything until today. So I guess it is taken care of, I already have youtube music and does not cost me anything because I already had a commercial account with google some years ago to sell games but they shut down those commercial accounts and left those of us with license able to use certain services since we had paid for the license. Amazon unlimited music has some great audio but really youtube has the largest vault of music than any of the other pay services.
Amazon is heading down the road. They keep changing my default CC back to theirs on me and changing where and how to go to change it back to my credit union card. It is a quick flash at the top of the screen thanking me for using their card and if I don't catch it at check out, it goes through. The problem I have with theirs is that they don't post the payment I make in a timely manner so I end up with penalties and interest. They have done this to me more than once. Right now, I have a positive balance because I kept mistaking what I owed from the time the bill was sent to when the payment was posted, yielding more fees. So I overpaid, and every month they send me a statement saying they owe me money We will see how they like to pay postage every month.,
I have had the worse stye in my eye today that I've ever had. Usually they are annoying and are gone in a couple of hours. This is so painful that my nose is running,my sinuses ache and my teeth hurt. I called my eye doctor...she said there's nothing to do but use hot compresses and wait it out. She also said to put green tea bags on it for the antioxidants . I can't drive to get the tea bags until this settles down. TV and the computer are a challenge as well. When I get the pain I'm closing both eyes. This really sucks.
Hope it goes away quick. I have been pretty lucky and maybe two in my lifetime. I am not sure what causes them but what ever it is I know it is unpleasant.
@John Brunner It's always something, isn't it. Hope you feel better soon. I used to get those as a kid a lot, but can't remember any as an adult.
I don't know what's going on. I had one for a few hours last week. The web says they are bacterial. I did drive to the store this evening. It's still painful but nowhere near as bad as this morning...I would not have risked getting behind the wheel then. I popped a couple of Tylenol to help with the sinus and tooth aching (it worked.) My temp is OK, so I have no idea what the issue was there. I'll soak that eye with a hot green tea bag before I go to bed...maybe that will help. Walmart was out of eye patches...I wanted one to secure the tea bag so I wouldn't have to hold it on. In fact, most of those eye care product shelves were empty.
@John Brunner - sorry for your pain, hope you get rid of that soon. May i suggest cleaning things with disinfectant wipes... phone remotes handles to fridge microwave keypad and handles..etc... I do this um maybe every two weeks or so. My hubby is prone to styes also, this helps - I think. Rarity for him anymore
