My sister in law has been plagued with eye problems so I was told. Being a female the bacteria explanation might be more inline with that explanation due to females using the same make up like eye liners and such, the application tools etc.
I'm going to continue my DMV rant for the state of LA. Geico sent a corrected cancelation notice to the state DMV so it was said at the time of the phone call 1am in the morning. I took their word it would be forwarded but I never got a reply or a recognition from the DMV as being reinstated and the block removed. So I sent another email to their express line to ask had it been fixed and I waited 5 days and I get this email that had nothing on it but their email address and phone number or in other words a normal office header as on the website . I tried calling the number and after waiting for 10 minutes I get a voice recording saying they were experiencing a high caller rate at the time to call back some other time. Now this is how this state operates taking care of drivers. They stopped these things being taken care of at the local DMVs of the cities and towns throughout La. At this point I have no idea if they have lifted or removed that erroneous block on my tag and my drivers license. I don't worry about being stopped because I have the Progressive insurance binder on the correct date which proves I had two liability policies at the time of it being written due to Geico screwing around and causing this trouble sending the wrong cancellation date making me appear to be without liability for 8 days. I hate this state, their schools are about as good as their DMV and other institutions. It has always been a corrupt mismanaged state since the end of the civil war. I guess it will stay that way
This aircraft was in service at the 121st same time I was at the 336th opposite end of the airfield. I have the photos of it being transported and another also being rescued and restored. They made a cross country trip when it was restored and a lot of people and old pilots flew it. The aircraft at one time had been a dust off ambulance and then transferred to the 1st cav as a replacement, so it saw a lot of the war. It is a bit disturbing to see people monetizing things that don't belong to them. Here are the photos of the salvage and restorations of these two aircraft. Photos by the correct source and owners. Our old mechanics and crew chiefs doing all the complete restoration and Wings and Rotors association.
I used to get styes when I was younger, but they never went away in hours; it was usually days of hot compresses. Sorry you are having issues. It is tough when you live alone and have no one to help you out.
@John Brunner Use aloe vera on that stye and it will be gone quick and in a hurry. My rant today is that I don't have a rant. Sorry to disappoint.
Is it OK to put aloe vera gel in my eye? (I tried the green tea tea bag last night, but the bag material is way too coarse to put on my eye. I'm gonna wrap it with cheesecloth and try again.)
Yeh, the worse part is when I wake up in the middle of the night with the eye pain and my runny nose making me feel as though I'm being waterboarded. I got up at 3AM and put a hot compress on it, then I got up at 5AM to get a drink and walk around to calm down. When I woke up this morning, I figured I'd sleep a bit in because of the bad night I had, and when I looked over it was 10 o'clock!!! I never sleep that late. I have noticed that when I feel the stab, I get relief if I pull my upper eyelid up a bit and pull my lower eyelid down a bit, as though "unsticking" them from my eye helps. All this monitor time I get does not help. It's been causing me issues as well...but that's self-inflicted.
Yes! Web MD has a good write up on it. Just don't let it get in your eye. It won't damge it, but might hurt. If you have an aloe plant, just cut off a tip and hold the cut gel end to the stye.
Just to clarify for anyone who might stumble upon this conversation..."in your eye" does not mean "on your eyeball." As you said, it means the skin surrounding your eye. Getting it in your eye can cause damage. There are articles out there saying it's OK to put in your eye, but they don't really mean it. And a cautious person would only use the gel straight from a cutting, not stuff from a bottle that might have additives even though it says "100% Aloe Vera gel." I'm wondering how to apply this so it will help when I have a stye on the inside of my eye lid that's rubbing against my eyeball. Here's the WebMD article you referenced.
I too used to get them and my grandmother would set me up with an eye cup filled with a mixture containing boric acid. Worked like a charm.
John, do you have any gauze bandage? You can wrap a length of that around your head, padding the spot that covers your eye. Sounds like you might need some of that prescription eye cream like they give for conjunctivitis.
Boric acid is the ingredient in eye wash kits they have in the workplace (and that I have at home.) I recall years ago going into a drugstore to buy boric acid to mix my own eyewash. The pharmacist freaked when I told her what I wanted it for. I guess she thought I was gonna shoot my eye out or something. If I recall correctly, I read that it's a 5% solution (don't take that to the bank.) Maybe it's a good thing I did not find the boric acid on the shelf. I just pulled my kit out of the medicine cabinet. It's expired, so I'll have to get a new one. It says that the active ingredient is purified water. (I have a bunch of that on hand for my catheter flushes.) It lists boric acid as an inactive ingredient, along with sodium borate and sodium chloride. I'm reading making a solution anywhere from 1tsp b.a. per quart (32 oz.) of sterile water to 1tsp b.a. to 4 oz. saline water (for pink eye.) Then there are sites that admonish against using this if you have a bacterial or fungal infection. I know that a stye is bacteria-caused, but I don't think it's necessarily a bacterial infection of the eye. Maybe I'll just stick to what my ophthalmologist recommended. Her office is gonna call me Monday to check up on me.
Consulting a doctor is probably the best idea. Although, if ya text Dr. Jill Biden, she might know what to do.
