New experiment. Can't let 1/2c leftover canned green peas go to waste.
Fry 1 large slice of bacon, chop it up in little pieces and mix it in with the peas. Sweet and salty. [IMG]

That's interesting. I've had bacon with green beans, but never peas (which I like a lot.)

I see the bacon thread got you, too. ;)

Last night's dinner was a big salad with blue cheese, garden tomato and bacon! And I threw in some dinner rolls.

    Here you go, Mary. :)

    Ant Killer

    Borax and Bacon Grease
About 2 tablespoons of Boric Acid can be mixed with bacon grease to form a mixture which can be set in mounds on pieces of paper plates.

    Roach Killer

Borax, Bacon Grease and Flour ( Make tiny little biscuits laced with borax :p )

I've done one of those borax internet recipes. I believe it had sugar in it. The ants were completely uninterested. I went out and bought some commercial bait.

Re: borax biscuits...sounds like an Agatha Christie plot.

    "Nah, that's sausage gravy."

    Just a few observations...

    A male hummingbird showed up this morning. I thought they would have left by now. I put out a feeder only in July, to make sure they had enough food available to gain weight before migration. Didn't put one out this spring, because I got tired of watching them fight. Birds on my deck are not allowed to fight or bully. The young bluebird from the first nest is pushing the limits. Just now he has enough new feathers to conclude he's a male. {sigh}

The cat has allergies. She sneezes a lot. Likely from dust. I don't (thank goodness). She hates the air conditioning. I hardly see her all summer except at mealtimes. Found out she has been sleeping under the bed. Where else in a house could you find more dust than under a bed? So I will probably pull everything out from under the bed today and dust. Then she won't sleep there.

I've been walking around with two different shoes for a few hours — a thinned-soled one on the right and a thick-soled running shoe on the left. The sciatica "problem" has gone away, at least momentarily. Does this prove my right leg is longer than the left? lol

Curlers wear two different shoes...a sliding shoe and a gripping shoe.

Would curling shoes make it easier to dust under the bed?

My Wife enjoys re-reading good books that she has liked, over and over again. Her current one is "The House that Cleans itself", by Mindy Starns Clark. (Change your house to fit your behavior, rather than the other way around.) The Author is not a cleaner herself, but will research a subject and write a "How to" book about it. Since she used to clean house for a few people, over the years...and has "Cleaning genes", It seems like my Wife regards it as a fun read.

    Funny you mention that.

It's the main reason why I initially chose braid rugs on the floors instead of wall-to-wall carpet. And why I'm now going to remove the braid rugs in both bedrooms. Replace them with rugs that only cover the floor NOT underneath the bed.

Why? Because it's much easier and faster to run a dust mop near the wall and under the bed, than it is to try and vacuum those places. Plus, I think vacuums just stir up dust.
