Exactly the way I feel, Karen. I obey all laws concerning cell phones too. Turn them off when I'm supposed to, have Bluetooth in my car but don't use it too much because I seldom get a call when driving.

I still only have a landline, and I have my dad's flag as well as one my son sent me that was flown over base Seitz in Iraq. I have no love nor respect for the human rodents who burn/stomp on the flag, or otherwise show disrespect.

WoW gary that's a little extreme isn't it?....The flag is representative of a country it's not the soul, nor is it something that should be used as a battering ram against people who seek change...

I've never burned a flag, nor would I ever, but then I just don't destroy property unless it belongs to me....as for grabbing a phone from someone's hand because they were talking onto it during the playing of a national anthem (albeit that he still showed respect by standing up).... that's utter nonsense... no-one knows how important that phone call was to that man, far more important no doubt to listening to the Star Spangled Banner probably for the millionth time in his life.. ...

Absolute respect to you and those like you who fought and died for your country and the right to fly the Stars and Stripes...those of us who've grown and lived in a free country thank you most sincerely... , but you also fought for the right for people to make their own decisions as to whether their country is doing the best it can for them, and if by burning a flag they're showing their disapproval then so be it....at least they're not going to war !!

I'm someone who does get a little crazy when people use cell phones in places such as @Bobby Cole described...it irritates the heck out of me if I'm sitting in a restaurant and someone is having a loud conversation right next to me and drowning everyone out....however, I'd never dream of attacking someone by removing their personal property because of something that annoys me...

    Sorry but that's my opinion..

@Ike Willis, you don't have to like it. I don't like it but it's not illegal. We are a country with different views, always were and always will be.

Everyone has a right to their views as long as they're legal and don't hurt others physically.

Just because we said that burning the flag is legal? None of us think it's okay that have argued this.

Don't leave because of a post, Gary. I'm sorry you feel this way but I have a right also to say my opinion. If there is only one side we might as well live in a dictatorship or communist country, everything you and others fought against

I don't respect people who burn the flag either. I fly the flag in front of my house as my own dad did. My dad was a WW2 vet..and had a military funeral. I have the flag from his coffin in a glass case with his name. I know what the flag means to people, Ike..I understand your feelings.

Chrissy never said she would burn a flag.
She just said it's been done.

For anyone to tell her to burn it while her body is wrapped in it, while they light the kerosene, is horrifying!

Our Flag is unlike any other, on earth! It should never be allowed to be destroyed in a disrespectful manner.

Why is it unlike any other country's flag,? Like I've said for the hundredth time on here, I wouldn't burn our flag but it's not against the law.

I don't get it, freedom of speech is what vets have fought for when fighting against tyrants or communists. Yet, you don't agree with it at home?

Gary don't leave , we're all entitled to voice our own opinions on a subject..it's not a personal attack it's just a different viewpoint to yours.. it would be a very boring world..and forum if we all agreed like nodding dogs.

I agree with not advocating burning flags, but why is it unlike any other Joe? It's no prettier than our Union Jack in my opinion?

It's what our flag means to the men and women fighting and dying for it that makes it different from others. It's a sacred symbol to service men/women, and burning or walking on the flag should be viewed as the same as if a veteran were thrown to the ground and stomped on.
