After a few days work, and the hassle of putting up new screen, it looks smokey or hazy and I don't remember aluminum screen being like that, back when I was a younger man. Marie said there's no way I will be able look at that all the time; I will be "blind".

So I ordered the fiber screen, which will be easier to put up, and better on the eyes. :( I had about half of it screened, when we relized it was a mistake. Had the screen to replace them, for about three years now, so back to the drawing board. New screen will come this Thursday, so I will rest awile until then. :)

Here's a photo; but not sure if you can see just how much clearer this screen door is; than the sreen beside it.

I didn't want to break it to him after all the work and danger he was in putting it up with ladder on the edge. If the flies and bugs weren't so bad, I'd just insist on not screening it in.
I knew better than to tell him while he was exhausted, but, no way in hell was I going to sit on this porch with that bright cloudy, bent in some places crap This is not our parents' idea of screen, like many things today it is way out of line.
Doing this work can be very dangerous for Jake far as if he falls off the ladder on the ledge. Meantime I'm going to look for a handy man to finish. Jake did all the hard work, now just need screen attached that could be dangerous for Jake..

I'm careful; and can "handle this". Not to mention all the "money", it will save us in the long run. As you know Marie; you seem to have forgotten, all the things I had to repair or finish that others done; like house when it was built, the bus, Van,and the fence, took him to court and won, but what did you win? Still was ripped off on that too.Remember? And other things I had to redo, etc, etc, etc; almost everytime we had work done.

Got a gift from Idalia during the hurricane? Another tree on the back fence and other tree tops snapped off. It did blow the one we had leaning onto another tree down without hitting the fence. :) so that was good. Here are a few photos below. We checked on filing a claim but the deductible was higher than the damage estimate. They have it figured out.

Photos are on their side; hard to remember how to flip them upright, I will try to figure it out. Seems like Ken and John Brunner had told me something before about adjusting the size of photos. "I think". Too large and they flip on the side. I'll go away for a while, and Think about it.

Once we were about to catch up around here the hurricane tore up a few things and took down lots of trees and tree limbs.
Still getting tic's from dragging the crap to a pile to tie to mower or golfcart to the field.
I pulled off 13 tic's yesterday, little seed tic is hard to see till he bites and it itches.
Insurance company is a joke!! Deductible is $5000.Which is right below cost,of course.

Try this and see if it fixes it. This is the cedar that Leo and I were watching on the porch and the wind blew the limbs off it and he didn't even move, I couldn't believe it because he's scared of everything.

It is really great to have both you and Marie back again, @Jake Smith ! We were concerned, but you have often been gone for a while when life keeps you busy, so that is what we were hoping it was this time, too. I am sure that the hurricane added a lot more to your already busy schedules.
Have you been able to take the boat out on the river and get some fishing in ? I look forward to your boating and fishing pictures !

Thank you, Ivonne and you are right about the schedule around here. Haven't been out lately on the boat but I'm getting ready soon, now that it's cooling down some, can't wait to go and I will be putting up photos for you, all here to see. How have y'all been? Good I hope, we are just as busy as ever and getting older to boot. :)

P.s. I did get the porch and kitchen finished, since I was posting on here last time, and got the new fridge, countertop, and stove with 5 burners too, the one I wanted, that I posted on here earlier.

Thank you Don, and how are you doing there in Alaska? It's fixing to cool off some here finally, and I for one am ready for it. We have been mostly high 90s all summer. :)

The hurricane set us back big time. We have to do all the work here ourselves but thank God we are still able, don't know what we will do when we get down and can't.

Yvonne, we look forward to getting back on the river but something else tears up or breaks or its too hot or storming.
We do plan to try to get boat out soon.

Leo and Foxy haven't been on a boat so it will be fun taking them down the river for the first time. Wish yall were her and could go with us.

Cooling down here too! It was down to 26 F. again this morning. Clear and dry, though. No snow yet.

Gets really cool there, for sure. Never been there but almost moved there in my 20's. I always loved hunting and think it would've been fun for me there, not sure about our kids and how they would've liked it, guess we will never know.
