I am jealous of you two. I am married to an old guy and my ladder climbing is limited so we can't do much with this tree. I just had a guy out to give an estimate on a 40 foot elm leaning towards our house. A good wind and we won't have to get a Christmas tree for the living room. I need someone who carries insurance. The guy I want is a farm guy but he says he is booked. This guy came right out which means he is going to be too expensive. Living in a woods is great until it comes to get you
I wonder if your homeowners insurance would pay to take it down, or perhaps a utility company if it is close to power lines in any way?
We won't allow anyone on the property who isn't insured, so it is always very costly so we either do it ourselves or it doesn't get done. Mary we are blessed with energy, but it is wearing on us. I think it is because since Feb.1998 when we moved in work demands hasn't stopped. A lot is left undone as we age.
That's like what I was pointing out about the insurance companies on post #259, they know how to set deductibles so we want to file a claim, "IMO".
Molly is amazing how she keeps going ,she is nothing but skin and bones. She loves the trail, and runs plays like a puppy. Foxy is a real energetic dog and cleaning her ears was one hell of a job! Jake holding her head and me restraining her between my legs was really hard fearing she would ram the q-tip down her ear. Leo is more laid back but very jealous of his sibling foxy. She comes inside but since he likes to pee aka mark furniture he is not allowed in the house.
Things aren't slowing down yet, these are some of the new projects I have to get done now. Redo greenhouse for winter. Retint van windows. Start new vegetables for winter.
Just looking at all that work makes me tired. Especially setting back up hydroponic system. We will see, since hurricane last month destroyed the greenhouse covering. along with all other damage.
