Ours are a little more strict on who can get food. Income limits, housing... I bring food in and wondered about that.
We have way more holidays (or special days) for the small percentage of transgenders/lgbtq people than I had even realized. No wonder we feel like it is being pushed into our faces all of the time ! Look at this chart of special days.
It’s ironic that the National No Bra Day falls (pun intended) during the “Gender Fluid Visibility Week” It’s weird that the only day that straight males could celebrate was Father’s Day but now that biological women can say that they are fathers, we straights have no day dedicated just for us. It saddens me to write that even Ice Cream and Pancakes rate higher than straight males because they have their own days but us? Nope. Pumpkin spice rates higher than us. Hair, as in, National Hair day rates higher than us. DERN…..Even Fried Scallops have a day!! (Oct 2)
Our local non-governmental food pantry begs people to come get stuff, regardless of need. They take in more than those-in-need take.
Back on topic...who awards these "days" to groups, or to food products, or to "talk like a pirate" people?
The same guys who, for a price, will happily name a star after you or a loved one. Let’s see, we can take star #L6B14A1798C and from now on it will be called Gertrude. That’ll be $50. Will that be all sir?
From The New American: A U.K. magazine for fruits and nuts called Attitude bestowed Woman of the Year Award on transgender Brian Mulvaney (destroyer of Bud Light) because he “is sharing the everyday highs — and lows — of her transitioning experience with the world, though her love for the community is at the forefront.” Link
Meanwhile, back to reality, we have the governor of Arkansas (Sarah Huckaby) writing an executive order banning all references to stuff like, “birthing person”, “pregnant person” etc from all of Arkansas’s state documents. And..I think but not absolutely positive that Arkansas also banned biological males from competing in sports with biological females and I also believe that biological males are no longer allowed in female locker rooms or restrooms. Note: I threw a like on your post only because you took the time to post it, not because I like what the UK thinks of Mulvaney.
Since we're talking about stupid phrases, lack of reality and the UK, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, a United Kingdom-based charity, listed the term "bonus hole" on its website as an alternative word to vagina that some transgender and nonbinary patients may prefer. The glossary encourages health care professionals to talk with patients about the language and terminology they are comfortable using. This hit the news the end of June.
There are several similar podcasts online, and I don't watch a lot of them. However, the transgender thing seems so horribly bizarre to me that I am sometimes tempted to try to figure out what the heck is going on with this, particularly when it comes to surgical interventions. This is a sometimes uncomfortably frank discussion with a young man (who is considerably older than he looks) who has transitioned from a man to a woman and back again, minus the penis. It's not one of those agenda podcasts, by the way, at least insofar as being an anti-transgender podcast. I'm not suggesting that we should agree with everything they have to say. I certainly don't, but I like listening to intelligent discussions, whether I agree with their conclusions or not.
