Did you ever catch a tadpole with your hands Did you ever listen to the old swing bands Well I did! Did you ever study the night sky Did you ever watch a dragonfly Well I did! Did you ever wrestle your dog on the floor Did you ever eat your dinner fast to get out the door Well I did! Did you ever plant a tree too close to a fence Did you ever read a book that made no sense Well I did! Did you ever collect fresh eggs from your own chickens Did you ever come home from work and search for pickens Well I did! Did you ever catch a mouse and make it a pet Did you ever go to a track and place a bet Well I did! Did you dance with a girl who made you tongue tied Did you ever grieve a dog that died Well I did! Did you ever eat a banana split Did you ever swallow and olive pit Well I did! Did you ever hug your mom for no reason Did you ever eat ripe peaches when in season Well I did! Did you ever come out of a movie theater in tears Did you ever try to contain your fears Well I did! Did you ever think how many things we say and do Did you ever think how many things we go through Well I did and still do! Tony P 12/16/23 PS I tried to make the W in the title a Capitol letter didn't work.
Love it, Tony!! And to get the capital to work, you'd need a space between the dashes and the W so it can recognize a new word.
Beth, Just reminded me that catch praise Was already used in the song. I woke up around 5am with this Thought in my head. I called them "pop ups". Maybe in the future I'll ask my daughters to put one of my poems to music, They both study music in college.
I fixed your W. Thread titles automatically capitalize every word. It defines a word as "Something preceded by a space." -Typing "OA" will display as "Oa". -Typing "O.A." will display as "O.a." -Typing "O A" or "O. A." will display as "O A" and "O. A.", respectively. So I did as @Beth Gallagher suggested (actually, I did it when I saw your note about the lower case "w" and then read her post later.) Great minds, huh? edit to add: Well, I did most of those.
