I reordered the same groceries for the third time this morning. Both times before, Walmart has cancelled my order on the day it was due to be delivered. We are supposed to be back into the low 40’s by Monday (the next available delivery day), so I am hoping that the third time will be a charm, and we actually get groceries this time. Since no place has been able to get deliveries, we are thinking that walmart probably needs to be re-stocked as well as have delivery people able to drive before they can deliver any groceries, and the wait time has been the same for either pickup or delivery. It is good that we had supplies like rice and beans ahead of time, and plenty of bread for Mr. Bobby to make his turkey sandwiches. If he runs out of bread before Monday, he can always get a loaf at the little store where he buys his cigarettes, so we are good until then.
We've warmed up quite a bit, into the 30s for the high and out of the below zero temps at night. It's partly sunny. I'll take it. I was getting tired of those below zero temps but I'm thankful that nothing froze up.
Always good to be prepped @Yvonne Smith. It gets you through the tough spots without worry. While I could bake bread if I need to do so, I have found that keeping a l loaf of frozen bread dough (if you can deal with white bread) is nice to have around. If you are low and can't get out, just take the loaf out of the freezer the day before, let it rise overnight, then throw it into the oven. Not the best for big sandwiches, but better than nothing and easier than baking from scratch.
Yes, I put a like on your post but in truth, if I’m freezing my posterior off, everyone else should be too. I mean, isn’t this administration pushing equity?
0 F. and sunny It was -10 F. when I got up, but it is supposed to get cold tomorrow, so we'll see how low it goes.
It's 19 right now, and going down to 13° tonight. Same for tomorrow. Then we get a break for a few days with overnight lows warming up to the 50s.
26 c … 68f for a mid summers day ,normally wed expect to be in very high 30’s ..mid 40’s at this time of the year So it’s been a rather coolish summer so far We've just home from a 4.4 km morning beach walk ( it’s about lunch time now )
I’m sure it was you who gave me excellent gardening advice regarding tomatoes last summer @Don Alaska and you know I’ve planted Gross lisse and Roma tomatoes again this year ….. again a failure with Roma bottom end … rot but the GL are doing fine , so maybe it’s climate change …who knows , infact I’ve watered very few times due to the rain we’ve been getting https://www.diggers.com.au/products/tomato-grosse-lisse
RRot at the bottom is a calcium transport defect. Usually that can be corrected with regular watering and/or calcium supplements like lime or calcium chloride (faster). Hope things go better for you.
Low this morning 13F. Clear. No wind. It was pleasant at 6 am. Low tonight 21F, then it warms up. We've had 6 days in a row below freezing (at night only). As long as there's no precipitation it's fine. Hope it kills off a few insects. All time low here was -4F in 1985
Look at the HIGHS for tomorrow. Up around Chicken and Eagle the high will only get to -43 F. I will post our low temp tomorrow.
