I watched "Harry and Snowman". It is a true story about a guy who buys a plow horse going to be slaughtered at a glue factory. He pays $80 for the horse. He discovers the plow horse can jump very high fences. So, he trains the horse and enters it into jumping contests against thoroughbreds throughout the United States. Huge success follows for the plow horse by winning the highest jumping contests in the United States and being named horse of the year in two successive years (1959 & 1960). It's a keeper!

This is a really good movie, not too religious more on how old and young people need guidance.
And has lots of humor in it also.Back to the movie.

One of my daughters recommended a feel-good movie called "Little Boy". I just finished watching it a few minutes ago and I loved it. My daughter was right about it being a feel-very-good movie. I highly recommend it, but I should warn you that the critics did not like it. Go figure! But it's not the first time that I am glad I ignored the critics.

I watched the 1992 remake "Of Mice and Men" yesterday. Both Gary Sinise and John Malkovich did outstanding jobs. I am a John Steinbeck fan.

While Grapes of Wrath is a favorite, the Red Pony is an essential read, when I need a good cry.

Red Pony made me berry sad.
Funny I don't feel the same when the guy dies (like Mice and Men) but I get very upset when I see a dog in the film cuz he's gonna get it.

I watched The Proud and the Profane (1956) on Turner Classics last night. It was awful. I thought with Deborah Kerr and William Holden it couldn't be too bad. It was. Deborah Kerr seemed to old (35) for the part, and Holden just could not pull off the bad writing. I wanted to find out the ending but couldn't stick it out that long.

I watched this one today, it was a good movie, no violence or agendas. First time I saw Gene Simmons play was in 'Psycho.in 1950s or 60s. That was violent for the times.

Work done for the day. Happy of results! Weather's steady cloudy no changes.

Finally enjoying first cup of coffee, yes today was house-cleaning so got around to chilling time planning to enjoy the Bridget Jones Diaries Trilogy. Afterall, it's Friday night Films Night .

Kitty kat had run of house for half hour of fun, then fell promptly asleep on his radiator bed!

I've been trying to make it through Rebel Without a Cause (James Dean, Natalie Wood, 1955), for the umpteenth time. It's on TCM. Got through a whole hour this time, and that's enough. Such a crazy bunch of people. Gang mentality. Dysfunctional families.

Joni Mitchell used this movie to discuss the baby boomers in an interview one time. I was curious. Thought I'd give it another try. Does anyone else like this movie?
