So sorry for your family's loss Terry. Praying peace and comfort for all of you as you journey through this sad season of life.
Evenin'. My morning was a low energy morning. I didn't begin to come alive until about 11am. Then, my son showed up and was on my computer for 5 hours. However, I'm now wide awake at the hour of 10pm. Try as I might, I couldn't get to sleep last night. Then my knee started acting up, then, I had to make more bathroom runs than usual. Speaking of bathroom runs, did I ever tell you about what happened when I was about 7 years old? I didn't think so. I was in the 2nd grade. Dismissal time finally rolled around but, I had to serve a detention. Nothing unusual about that. However, it meant I got home from school later that usual. Unknown to me, my dad was home from work when I got home. When I reached our house, my bladder was about to burst. I ran into the bathroom and let fly. A lot of yelling and swear words filtered up through the floor. It seems my dad was working on the bathroom plumbing in the basement, unbeknownst to me, and I wet down his work. When I heard his footsteps stomping up the basement steps, I panicked and ran out the front door and down the street to the ball park at the end of our block. I returned home when I thought mom would be home from her job and have supper ready. As I stepped through the door, she saw the scared look on my face and burst out laughing. Dad didn't laugh, but he did grin a little. And that's my pee story. Always remember, never spit, or pee, facing the wind.
Good Morning all... Sunny morning...blue skies..hope it stays that way today.. I had a lovely day for my birthday yesterday Day off today, I have a hospital appointment later. Happy Birthday to @Chrissy Page Have a good day everyone..
@Bonnie Thomas , @Diane Lane , I'm between both you, and we have a tornado head straight at us. I hope the two of you are in safe places. I woke my grandson at 4:am. So we could get into the log cabin's strongest area. Our power went out around 4:30. Cross your finger ladies that it passes by us. I am in the NE area of Houston where the red is with the Many areas of green sections.
Morning all. ...a SUNrise would be nice about now.. Had one of those 500 year storms during the night in NW Houston ... had 16" of rain in 4 hours. Much of the area is under water, and everything is closed today. I was up most of the night with two anxious dogs .. too much thunder/lightning/hail and wind..
Our power came back on at 8:am. My old rain gauge says my area got over 23" of rain, and it is still raining. We got some really bad winds, and a couple of my neighbor's roofs seem to be missing some parts, but so far no tornado. Now I'm faced with trying to reschedule my appointment and tests with the cardiologist. The catch phrase around here is, "Turn around, don't drown.", and they are forecasting much more rain. Last year this area lost more than 20 people due to flooding.
I just looked at your radar, and it looks like even more bad storms coming your way, and not a good day to be out on the road, for sure ! It is not good that you have to re-schedule your cardiologist appointment, @Ina I. Wonder ; but it looks like the safest thing to do when the storms are that bad. That looks like a huge storm, at least on the radar,it goes all of the way from the gulf/Houston and up past Dallas, and moving east. The worst of it will probably go south of both @Sheldon Scott and us, but might be heading in @Babs Hunt direction next. Everyone in that area, please keep us updated on how you are doing ! !
Good Morning Everyone. @Holly Saunders I hope you had a terrific Birthday. @Ike Willis Enjoyed your story this morning. @Ina I. Wonder So glad y'all are safe and praying safety for all those who have the storms heading their way this day. For those who haven't seen any Spring time yet where they live...hope some Spring comes your way real soon. Have a special day Everyone. @Yvonne Smith Thanks for heads up about the might be bad weather coming our way...will update you on this.
Good Morning, Y'all. I AM ALIVE AND CONNECTED TO THE WORLD AGAIN. I've had no TV, internet or phone since Saturday. More storms are headed this way, so I'm going to check the news, since I haven't seen it since Saturday. The neighborhood lost power and also internet/phone/tv, but theirs was restored yesterday via a limited signal, versus mine being totally out. Even though mine went out before theirs, I was shuffled to the back of the line. Hope y'all are doing o.k., I'll try to read through a bit when I can.
Glad you're o.k. @Ina I. Wonder , haven't seen @Bonnie Thomas post yet. I had to go to the ER Sunday, during my outage, but they had power, etc., thankfully. Still feeling really crappy, but hopefully can run to store and get some supplies for what's coming. I haven't seen news yet, since cable guys just left, but I'm sure others are having severe weather, too, hope everyone's safe.
