Above freezing all night and the ground is appearing in some places as the snow melts. Today is the official end of our night. We have begun "astronomical twilight" so there will not be true darkness again until after summer is over. It isn't daylight at night yet, but not truly dark either.
How's the weather here in Henderson/Las Vegas metro area? One word description, HOT!! And, we haven't even seen the hotter part of the summer yet. Vegas hotels/casinos love the heat. People will stay inside and gamble.
I don't think it is anthropogenic global warming. Our temperature records only go back a few years, and geologic evidence and historical evidence shows it has been much warmer, much cooler and the CO2 has been much higher in past times. The all-time record for Anchorage for April 20 was 57 F. It might not have been the all-time record if it had occurred a day earlier or a day later...or a couple centuries earlier.
I agree, just wondered what you and others thought about it. Even as far back as ice age killing off dinosaurs, if my memory serves me.
It made it into the low 50s F. today, and we had a bit of hail. Very unusual for this location, especially at this tie of year. It was small and did no damage.
