The big danger appears to be something to do with the Supreme Court. Democrats love the Court when it does what the want, but when it returns things to the Constitution, they despise it. Never in memory have politicians attacked SCOTUS as they have during this administration. Disgusting! Even to the point of attempting to assassinate the Chief Justice! Biden has a "big speech" coming up. Many believe it will be him stepping down, but Biden has hinted that he has been consulting with "Constitutional scholars" regarding ways to limit the Supreme Court. What will happen if they declare his actions unconstitutional?
They have now identified the water tower sniper as an FBI shooter, possibly the same one who was involved with the Nevada shootings a few years back.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., wrote on X Friday that “whistleblowers tell me that MOST of Trump’s security detail working the event last Saturday were not even Secret Service. “DHS assigned unprepared and inexperienced personnel,” he added, posting a letter he sent today to United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. “Whistleblowers who have direct knowledge of the event have approached my office. According to the allegations, the July 13 rally was considered to be a ‘loose’ security event. For example, detection canines were not used to monitor entry and detect threats in the usual manner,” Hawley wrote. “Individuals without proper designations were able to gain access to backstage areas. Department personnel did not appropriately police the security buffer around the podium and were also not stationed at regular intervals around the event’s security perimeter.” “In addition, whistleblower allegations suggest the majority of DHS officials were not in fact USSS agents but instead drawn from the department’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). This is especially concerning given that HSI agents were unfamiliar with standard protocols typically used at these types of events, according to the allegations,” Hawley also said. I have not read everything or watched the videos so please ignore if this is already here.
Watching the Congressional non-testimony of former Secret Service Director Kimberley Cheatle, it was obvious that she was blindsided. Clearly, she was directed to give the same non-answers that Democrats always give when they are called in front of Congress, and that's exactly what she did. She expected that the Democrats would cover for her as they usually do, turning the hearings into the usual show, where Republican congresspeople would berate the witness for refusing to answer questions, alternated by Democrat congresspeople thanking the witness for their time, their service, and for putting up with the rude Republicans. Instead, she soon learned that she was going to be the fall guy, while Democrats used their time to push for gun control and to distance themselves from any association with the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, even those who had all but called for it. She expected Republicans to call for her resignation but she wasn't prepared for Democrats to do the same thing. Meanwhile, many of those who are quite reasonably angered by the fact that Trump was allowed to be assassinated, saved only by a sudden turn of the head, will be satiated by her resignation, believing that justice has been done. Yet still, we don't have answers to any of the real questions we have, and what we'll have in the end is an FBI spin that will be as believable as the Warren Report, meaning those who want to believe it will, while those who don't won't, but most of them will be afraid to voice their skepticism for fear of being labeled conspiracy theorists. Thus far, I don't believe the Secret Service or the Deep State arranged for President Trump to be shot, but I do believe that the Biden Administration and those at the top of the Secret Service weren't interested in preventing it from happening, and this led to gaping holes in security that even a 20-year-old could figure out. However, I wouldn't rule out more direct involvement.
The news guy from ABC actually says in the video that the government tried to take out Donald Trump. The video is posted on Twitter and I listened to it, this is just a screenshot.
I was really impressed by the two women who strongly questioned her at the hearing and wouldn't let her wiggle out with non-answers like they usually do.
I've read that AOC was acting as though she realized that she had made enemies with the wrong people, and really leaned into Cheatle as a responsible Congress critter would. This is how converts are made...it's not all fun & games.
Edit to clarify: I learned that this representative (GOP Rep. William Timmons of South Carolina) may have been grand-standing, and may have been playing word games. Someone who heard the hearing live said that he kept asking about one specific office (Pittsburgh.) He kept asking why Jill got 12 from the one Pittsburgh office and Trump got 3 from that office. He never mentions if Jill and/or Trump already had agents assigned from a different office, he just keeps asking about this one office. It may still be a valid issue. It is possible that all of the agents came from that office. Or these may have been additional resources. Nothing like one untrustworthy area of the government being questioned by an equally untrustworthy one.
The guy who made that decision has now replaced Cheatle as Acting Director. He is very anti-Trump. Trump is being discouraged form holding open-air rallies, and the Administration is pressuring public indoor venues form allowing him to hold indoor rallies too. Election interference at the highest level. First, they used the legal system to attack Trump, but now they are using even the Secret Service. What has this country fallen to? Nobody really responsible for the failure has been fired.
If you've watched the hearings, you've seen this. Otherwise, this includes some interesting excerpts.
Cheatle had to stand-to for the Senate and then resigned. Okay, but since the U.S. is a chain-of-command country, who was Cheatle’s boss? Ya know, the guy where the buck stops. Possible answer: The ever incompetent Merrick Garland. No, not him because he has a boss. Another possible answer: According to the governmental chain of command, the also ever incompetent Joe Biden. But wait. Jill Biden had 12 secret service agents for a venue held in a casino with lots of hired security for about 200 people. Trump had 4 for an outside venue with 20K+ people. Logically, the answer has to be Jill Biden, the same person who had Cheatle hired to begin with and obviously doesn’t answer to Garland or her husband.
