We have this show every year in July. It is amazing. We have planes fly over us in Fond du lac too on their way to the show.. They are from all over the world, sometimes. People park their planes at our little airport because of overflow. Would hate to have the WEF end this because of the green agenda. The WWII warbirds do use up a bit of fuel but they are breath taking!
We just had the Arctic Thunder air show in Anchorage, but that is mostly military aircraft and troops showing what they can do. The Thunderbirds and the Army's Golden Knights performed. Sometimes Canadians put on a show with slower aircraft that you can actually watch flying as well. I have an old friend who is a pilot and attended Oshkosh every year. I haven't had contact with him for years, so I don't know if he still attends or even if he is still alive.
I had an appointment in Oshkosh, Monday and followed 'alternate 41' to get to it. The pastures all around were full with tiny little single and two engine plane parking by where I went. They were not participating in the show. Just flew up for it. Wish I had time to mosey about. I have always just watched from afar. A few years ago, Harrison Ford flew up a couple of years for a Young Flyers association--giving kids rides and stuff.
