Whenever the current temperature or conditions defy the global warming scenario, they point out that you can't look at the temperatures on a given day or season and make a relevant point, yet every time we have a warm day in the winter, there is a hurricane somewhere in the world, there is a drought, or it rains, they claim that as proof of global warming.
Good plan. Leave it an open question to fill in the blank later. They will take away our beef and chicken raising ability and restrict our use of land and water (not for our benefit but for the elite) while the developing countries will keep right on spewing pollution or 'carbon' China and India come to mind but there are others out there who are just learning to appreciate air conditioning etc.
We already had a (negative) influence on the climate, why shouldn't we be able to have a positive influence? You're right about that. But who says that these cycles always have to go back to the same starting point? Don't think of it as a circle, but as a spiral I don't like the way we deal with it either - but that doesn't mean we should doubt global warming. Do you really think there is a sophisticated plan behind it? These developments come about because everyone is looking for their own advantage. Every company immediately looks for loopholes to increase its own profits. This then has negative consequences for society. Politicians try to counteract this and pass new laws - and then they start looking for loopholes again. This is at the expense of us all. Yes, that is the wrong approach. Here they think they can use fear to increase the pressure = faster action. What tends to happen is that people turn away and fight it. Singling out individual events is a mistake, but the statistics clearly show that the climate is warming. This results in new weather phenomena. For example, it rains less often but more heavily, the parched ground cannot absorb the masses of water, there are floods,... And then people stand up and say: ‘Look at this, it's still raining anyway.’
Behind the scenes, there is always lots of profit for the people spurring about climate change. Mother Nature has always been at the wheel and knows what she is doing. I am sure there are some that remember the dust bowl days, or have read about it. We have had hot, dry, rainy, floods, etc., since the beginning of time. Just my opinion. In the words of Billy Joel. "We didn't start the fire It was always burning Since the world's been turning"
I was reading some nonsense about humans now being responsible for erratic changes in rainfall. Humans are responsible for everything bad that happens, but nothing ever gets better. We were supposed to all starve by 1985 or so if you remember Paul Ehrlich. https://www.courthousenews.com/erratic-changes-in-rainfall-patterns-linked-to-humans/
So? The climate warms, the climate cools, and people adapt, or not. People in some parts of the world will benefit from global warming, while others will decline.
I don't think we have yet reached the Medieval Warm Period or the Roman Warm Period yet. Humans survived those. Maybe it was horse flatulence that caused those. I don't know. As far as I know, nobody had SUVs or coal-fired power plants yet, and the human population was MUCH lower then. There probably were a lot more horses and wildlife then though. Maybe it was the deer, elk and bison that caused the warming. They must have all died out then though, as the climate went into the little Ice Age at the end of the Medieval Warm Period.
I just don't understand the green people. I think cutting back on exhaust and maybe manufacturing helped the air pollution in California. But what about wild fires which happen out there? To worry about earth climate is fine. When I was young, the saying was 'Everyone talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.' That was not a challenge! It got hot. It got cold. there were storms. There were hurricanes. There were droughts... And even after Black Rock or whomever gets control of climate credits, there still will be. But then there will be a few really rich people and lots of poor people.
From what I have read about the fires in California, the controlled burns were stopped during the Clinton administration due to concerns about air quality. It was left on the books, but never done. The Greenies look and see it is still on the books and assume it is still being carried out. Obama tried to restart the program from my understanding, but the accumulation of fuel had become too great and it could no longer be safely done in most areas. Now it just waits until something sets it off, then catastrophic fires occur. It was dry for a while, but it became much wetter in the last few years, but the fuel accumulation is still an issue.
It is also notable that nothing done by governments is ever attributable to global warming or pollution. Governments can set off nuclear bombs, pollute rivers, and do whatever they want, and that's never attributed to any harm to the Earth. They can fly all over the world and back again on a whim, and pretty much everyone in power, whether elected or appointed, uses more electricity and oil than the average small town. They can continue endless wars, but none of the missiles they fire, or the aircraft, tanks, or whatever has any effect whatsoever on the environment. Yet, they want to keep someone's cow from farting and put us all on bicycles (not themselves, us).
You're right about that. But who says that Mother Nature is steering us in a direction that is good for us humans? Do you think Mother Nature is looking after us? That is the way of things. Every development has good and bad sides. The good sides are taken for granted, the bad sides are remembered for longer. There will always be negative consequences, the important thing is how you deal with them. What would be the advantages of climate change for you? Ok, let's say you end up on the good side of development - what do you think the people who are on the bad side do? They come over to your side. Then you have climate refugees in addition to war refugees and economic refugees. Even the first two groups pose enormous challenges. And a large part of ‘our’ advantages will be eaten up by the disadvantages of the others. Who wants to give up their privileges? So there is a struggle, which is poison for peaceful coexistence. You may think you can shut yourself off from everything, but at some point it will hit you. Yes, nobody denies that. But the frequency and intensity are increasing. Whereas there used to be a flood once every 10 years, there is now one every 5 years. It will still rain, but it will be much more concentrated and there will be a lot of precipitation in a short space of time. And after the rain comes the drought. That may have been the case before, but not in such short intervals. And it's getting worse. Yes, humans can adapt. But what will it cost, who will pay for it? Why not invest beforehand so that you have fewer costs afterwards?
I hear there are some large earth shifts coming, not so much from human global warming but from the magma under the crust flowing. I think it was said from solar influences and neutrinos. I think it is also the fault of waaaaaayyyy too much wasting of water. We have been pumping water out of the ground and this takes a lot of time to replace. Surface water runs to the oceans eventually. So it may be our fault but I still say it is not my cow's fault or even my car. I taught my kids to conserve water but I don't know many others that do. A power outage may be a good wake up call, say, for a week. I have two composting toilets at the farm and set ups for the produce. What the powers that be are suggesting is for their own enrichment, not for the good of the planet or common people. Conservation, production of food on small acreage, maybe water harvesting would be better than toxic battery running cars.
Not counting the manufacturers the Government hires to produce the bombs, planes, tanks etc. Then, after paying gazillions for said items and putting them to work destroying stuff, the Government sends a 3 billion dollar sacrifice to the venerable gods of climate change hoping that it will be a sufficient amount to appease their chief spokesperson, the goddess Greta. About as useless as throwing a virgin into a volcano.
Just curious, but why? If you are on a farm, seems like you could simply dig a deep hole and buy some lime or something. Or build a cover over it... "outhouse."
