when it comes to computers and techy stuff, and the why therefore, I can't figure most of it out LOL.
It’s kinda odd ..cause the forum had that same odd looking text overlaid in other topic box’s ( on main page ) yesterday I originally started this thread about @John Brunner It was NOT …from anything I posted …cause I couldn’t get on here to post anything due to tech issues with internet connection on my end
It's just something goofy with the computers that the forum is hosted on. Sadly, it's out of the control of anyone here, other than to beat on the company that hosts this site and get them to fix it. It's interesting that things were fine for months and months, and now it's acting up again.
just popping in with this update. So far of and since yesterday afternoon, all is going smoothly for me and no further issues at this time...
well, here I am again, lol, but I am smiling. Took me three hrs to log in, and tried about 12 different times. NOW, I'm in. This has to be my laptop, nothing else makes sense to me, but what do I know.
It's not your laptop. I am still having the same issue too. I don' think Ken can do anything about it.
I had to refresh my browser 3 times to view your comment, and twice to reply to it. It's not you, Janine. When you have site issues, so do the rest of us.
I wonder if this is "of" the same issue Ken, it's starting to wear on what's left of my nerves. This continues to pop-up when I first try to come into SOC, and then it pops up if I do a change of forum, and/or when I go to hit "post" or "reply" it can pop-up as well, or typing just like it happened while I was typing this message:
Yeh, it's of the same underlying cause. I get it, too. (I just got it trying to post this Reply.) For now, all we can do is Refresh our browser page, and be grateful that it's easier than sending letters or faxes Funny how things got better for a few months.
thank you @John Brunner, I have still been having trouble getting back on here, so I gave up and took a nap denise
I am well aware of the problem, but there's not a thing I can do about it. We're sitting on an old server that is no longer maintained, and until the hosting company acts to move us to a new server and gives me a login, I have no control over any of it. We may go down entirely or get moved to a new server, which I can upgrade to whatever we need, but I have no control over it. The only people who will answer telephones don't have the ability to make the moves. They promise to refer it to those who do. Sometimes they ignore me for months, and at other times I get emails from people who tell me that I need to change our nameservers to that of the new server, which would be a simple thing for me to do, but no one will give me the nameserver data. I reply, telling them that I need the nameserver information, and then I don't hear from them again. I don't have any plays here.
