Voting over an entire weekend with photo ID and absentee ballots being requested and only for valid reasons would be the way to go I think. The Tuesday voting is a holdover from the past when people weren't so occupied with other things. When we instituted voting in Iraq, I think it was over a weekend or at least several days, and everybody who voted had a dyed finger so they couldn't vote twice. I don't think we allowed absentee voting of any kind when we set it up in another country.
but other countries do not take so long to elect officials. IMO so far longer to elect has not solved a thing. The truth about these people-- seriously is there such a thing?
