are you using frozen onions and peppers? If so. squeeze them once thawed in a paper towel..that helps a lot

I've made quiche maybe 3-4 times in my life. It freezes quite well. I guess there's some amount of fat and salt in it from the meats, cheeses, and the half & half, but the crust is the sat fat killer. On the other hand, there's a lot of nutritional value from the eggs, meat and cheeses.

I get fresh eggs here in the sticks, and just picked up stuff to make an asparagus omelette for dinner this weekend. I posted the recipe here. If you like that quiche recipe, Steven, why not share it in the Recipes forum?

There's no need to make a crust for a quiche, though I love pie crust. A frittata is also an easy egg dish.

I started with avocado toast with garlic salt. And then went on to anything that wasn't nailed down.

I have been on an onion salt kick lately. I put that &@!# on everything. :D It's good on scrambled eggs and avocado toast.

Our breakfast is the same every morning, I just put up months' worth of berries.
Bobs Red Meal Oatmeal, blueberry's, Strawberrys, frozen coconut organic fruit bar, Strawberry fruit bar, yogurt, heavy sprinkled with cinnamon.
I have to eat for health 'diabetic'. I do think the cinnamon lowers BP and glucose.

It is interesting that you can eat such high carb foods and not have insulin resistance issues, @Marie Mallery . I think a lot of the doctors have started recommending a low carb diet for people with T2 diabetes, and it helps them keep the blood sugar under control. I know that @Denise Evans also follows a low carb way of eating, and it keeps her a lot healthier, from what she has posted.

Whether I eat vegetarian or eat meat , I still do much better when I stick to low carbs, but I really love oatmeal with apples, and wish that I could have that many carbs in one meal. I do not have diabetes, but i feel the difference with my heart, and especially with body aches, if I eat more carbs, even healthy ones, so I try to stick with what is healthy for me.

From what I read, the berries are actually good for diabetics, may rise a little at first but lower glucose later.
Oatmeal I only eat 1/2 cup. Strawberry frozen bar is also good for HP, as are blueberries, supposably anyway.
Yvonne, I forgot to add cinnamon that is also supposed to help with glucose.
When I use the cinnamon, this morning when I woke up my sugar was great, only 87, I try to keep it below 100, but mostly it is a little above that.
I lift 35lb weights and do lower body strength training to help control BP and Glucose. Not everyday only when sugar is high.

Hi Yvonne, yes, I still eat the same way. I doubt I ever go back, as I just feel so much better in every way. I know I won't escape some of the pitfalls with the aging process, but one big thing, is I must have relieved the arthritis that was showing up. Even my hands straightened out, some fingers were knotted, and curled but not any longer. I'm taking vitamins, and collagen too, but mostly foods. I eat right around 1700 calories a day, but I don't count, I just know from plugging the numbers in when I started. I eat to satiation because none of my foods are putting any fat on me, including the fat I now eat off my meats.
I don't know how much my turmeric, ginger and cinnamon do but I love it in my decaf, and it isn't hurting me so I keep making my concoction in the a.m. :D

Wow, @Yvonne Smith, you gotta give a listen to this with Rogan and Musk!! I just tuned in at the start, because thought it would be a good one!! At just before 11:00, somewhere in there, they started talking about Creatine, and then, Ketosis from eating low carb! Just spent a few minutes on that but it was really neat to know they both eat that way, and had some good info!

I see now, it starts right at about 8:20 minutes into video, then ends about 11:00 ;)

There are a lot of people who are following the low carb and also keto. I try to get both sides of things in my health reading, so I am also looking at nutrition books by people like Dr. Michael Greger, who knows almost everything about fruit and vegetable health benefits.
I could write more, but it is off-topic here since this is the breakfast thread, so maybe in one of the health threads is a better place for me to do that.
I listened to the part of the video, and it is very worth the time to listen, thanks for sharing , @Denise Evans !

Good reminder that this had a different topic than health :)

I eat 3 eggs, 2-3 oz ground sausage, 1 oz mozzarella, sprinkle in a tsp each of Nooch, Flaxseed and Chia Seeds. Oh, I do like some fresh spinach leaves mixed in as well. It's made as an omelette.

Not frozen but if I make pizza I slice both up and put in the fridge on a paper towel to remove the excess water.

Today, I had a dried out, left over hamburger patty (just like mother used to make) and some lovely buttercup squash soup from last nite.
