Wisconsin was already called I thought? If things smell fishy, they probably are Here's what I find on Wisconsin. Where is your info coming from Don? I'm just curious. https://www.cbsnews.com/elections/2024/president/
Trump was also talking about doing away with the "anchor baby" idea. If a child is born to someone in the country illegally, they wouldn't automatically become citizens of the U.S. and as @ken said in another thread, he my try to do away with dual citizenship, although that would really piss off a bunch of Israelis.
Yes because they are in the US illegally (the keyword here). This I believe was part of the ploy for these illegals. "Well how can these mean old Americans kick out a baby that born here, and surely not it's mother". Funny how evil manages to twist things around so the "victims" are now the criminals. Dual citizenship, I'm not sure about this, but this isn't for illegals, it's for legal immigration and those people I think should probably be allowed to have dual. I don't know enough about it though, and why Trump is looking at that right now?? I didn't see Ken's post, or his source of the info??
There are rumors flying all over the internet, and I think we should all cite the source or we're no better than the left that loves to just belch out lies out of their own brains (or lack thereof).
What I read about the dual citizenship was that it would only be for people elected to government positions, so people like senators could not hold a dual citizenship with another country. I think that this is not a bad idea, but maybe not as urgent of a problem as the illegals coming here and having babies . An illegal person should not be able to have a baby who is an American citizen, and we have people coming in from places like China and other countries, so it is not just the Hispanics coming across the southern border who are a problem for this.
The anchor baby concept then leads to the conditional "immigration" of their extended family. It is so bad and never intended by the Founders. The 14th amendment was passed to make sure that freed slaves would automatically become citizens after the Civil War. It was never intended to mean that people who sneaked into the country to have a baby would be grated that right. Ironically, on the dual citizenship front, the oath of naturalization still contains the pledge to abandon all allegiances to other nations, so by being naturalized, the new citizens are automatically criminals, as they have committed Federal perjury when they took the oath if they keep their other citizenship. Not a good way to begin a new life in America. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1621
The thing about dual citizenship is that it can work the other way. I was born here, and have been told that since my mother was British and my father's parents were German, obtaining dual citizenship would be easy for me. Depending on how the political environment changes here, lots of American-born citizens might want options. So this topic is not necessarily limited to foreign-born peoples who take up American citizenship choosing a side.
My mom and dad were from Canada, but I doubt they would welcome me there with their citizenship qualifications. That's ok though as I kind of doubt the need or want will ever happen to me.
Tim Walz loses home county to Trump MANKATO, Minn. (TNND) — The 2024 presidential election hit close to home for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate lost his home county to President-elect Donald Trump, a crushing blow in an already lackluster night for Democrats. Trump received 49.6% of the reported vote in Blue Earth County, where Walz's family lived for 20 years, while Harris earned 48.3%.
I don't understand what took them so long, I figured since they like nothing better than chaos they would've been out and about last night ready to riot.
The whole idea of her running didn't seem legal anyway. Far as he is concerned, maybe they know him too well.
