Lots of reasons: -Gives the appearance of being a gracious loser -Rubs their noses in the fact that they outspent him 3-to-1, went into debt, and still lost, while he's got cash left to throw around -His universal reason for doing anything outlandish: The media won't report on the Left's negative behaviour, so Trump has to get them to report his outlandish behaviour in order for the story to see the light of MSM day
But he isn't a loser; he won. People like me would have to wonder why he would give away $20 million to those cretins who have made his life miserable for the past 4 years.
I am not sure he has access to money raised for the Presidential Run after the election. Not sure what he is allowed to do with it. I would have put it in trust for the next Republican candidate.
It is a really odd thing, from all aspects. I read the message he posted about this, and in it, he referred to the 2020 election, rather than the 2024 election, yet the statement about her overspending the money and not paying the vendors obviously referred to the Harris campaign . I think that maybe he just posted it to bring public awareness to exactly what happened with the campaign money. She started out with a billion dollars in funds, spent all of that, plus another $20 million she didn’t have. The people who said they supported her publicly at her rallies were actually paid to be there and read pre-written statements of support for Kamala, and one of the statements (think it was Beyoncé ) was completely plagiarized from another person’s endorsement speech. Apparently, this has to be listed as a paid campaign commercial if the celebrities were paid to say they supported the democratic candidate. (Basically no different than the paid actors who go on TV and say to buy XX brand product.) Also, some of the money that came from ActBlue was not legal. It has come out that they used names of seniors (mostly), some in nursing homes, and showed these people making donations to ActBlue, when they didn’t even have finances to make that kind of donations. It made me wonder about what @Mary Stetler posted the other day, about them asking her for more money, when she was not even donating to ActBlue, and if she was one of the people whose names they use for fake campaign donations. Not only were the vendors not paid, even her staff is now saying that they have not been paid, and there may be even more campaign financial issues that will come to light now that Trump has shown a bright spotlight on it by making the post about it. I do not think that he intends to pay her the money, and if he does anything at all, it might be to pay some of the vendors, kind of like buying gas for someone asking for gas money at a gas station, instead of giving them the money directly. President Trump did basically the opposite of what Kamala did. Where she paid a lot of money for speakers and entertainers, Trump just made public appearances and didn’t have to pay for anyone else who was also there. He showed up at places he wanted to go anyway, like football games, and got free news coverage and endorsements for being there, and he also did town halls and news conferences, which were covered by the press. Probably the biggest things he did that helped were the appearances on podcasts, which reaches millions more viewers than anything on television did. So, overall, he ran a campaign that cost a lot less, and reached a lot more voters with his message.
I don't know the context of what Trump may have said, but I think we can rest assured that he is not going to pay off Kamala's debt. It was probably said in the form of a joke to bring attention to the differences in his and her spending.
That's probably exactly it... the media likes to take his (or any republican's) JOKE and turn it into a ridiculous kerfuffle for months.
He came in under budget and he has a bunch of campaign money he apparently doesn't need (although Vance could use it in 4 years). I think it was said in jest. I cannot imagine the Dems would accept money from a Fascists even though Kamala said they would have a place at her table. What nonsense that woman spouted!
Reporter to Oprah: "Is it true they paid you a million dollars for the endorsement for Kamala?" "Not true," Oprah claimed. "I was paid nothing, ever," she asserted.
Sorry. I meant gracious winner. I think it's to draw attention to their corruption and ineptitude. He may also be rubbing their noses in it.
There's also talks of there being illegalities in the fundraising. Toward the end, donors were being lied to regarding how close the race was [not.] I don't know if this is a civil or a criminal issue (or both.) And I wonder what people will think of the optics when President Trump helps the little guy who the Dems screwed (it happens every election) even though they did not support him, juxtaposed against FEMA under Democrat rule turning their backs on American families trying to recover from a disaster because of opposite-party campaign signs.
Yeah, I think Oprah was deflecting with a technicality. She was not personally paid for it, but her production company was.
Yes, "The Young Turks." An aging cast of "young" alternate media commentators aimed at the Millennial audience. Very deep in the bag feeding off DNC and direct-donor funding. Over the years quite a few employees have fled because they couldn't stomach the hypocrisy. I think the head man "Cenk" used to work the old masked Mexican wrestling circuit in backwater California before this. Ok, I made that last part up.
I am sure that Trump would have been attacked everywhere if he had done the "fundraising" the Dems did. I mentioned the "supplementation" of donations from foreign sources by the Harris campaign. It was reportedly being investigated, but, like much illegality by the Democrat party, probably nothing will come of it.
