I hope he doesn't hold back or defer to those in his party who would like the direction to be returned to the Democrats, which very nearly describes the leadership of both houses of Congress.
The only reason this issue is getting traction is because some governors sent illegals to those regions that claimed to be "pro-immigration" as long as they did not suffer the consequences. This remains to be a chilling environment where enemies of the Democrat Party have the full force and effect of the law used against them ("white supremacists are the real terrorism threat"), while those that might serve The Party can openly violate the law (arson and invasion), and the only thing that sways Leftists is direct personal inconvenience. Perhaps some of the effects of this might get remediated, but the underlying problem still remains.
There goes a big chunk of their economy. Heck, we can't consolidate bases here because entire communities have been built around them. So good luck with that.
