'Mornin' again. Got my "warsh" did, breakfast is ate and all the coffee is drunk. Nothing left to do but make out my grocery list and turn it in. I hate busy days like this.
Good Sunday Morning, Y'all. It's overcast again, but there's nothing falling from the sky. The birds are chirping, and the cats and I have all been fed. I'm settled in at the computer with hot tea with honey and lemon. I'm trying to break through the junk in my chest. I finished the book I was reading, so it's time to look for another. I have plenty of e-books to read, it's just a matter of scrolling through them and selecting one. You can never have too many books, whether they're print or electronic versions, and I like both. It sounds as if everyone's doing o.k., which is good to hear. @Yvonne Smith when I'm feeling better, I like to drive down and see how high the gully is. It was pretty high the other day, but it flows right out into the Gulf, so thankfully there usually isn't much of an issue, unless the water's flowing in from the Gulf and the gully's full. I haven't checked the weather, but I guess I should. I have to go out tomorrow regardless, unless it will be dangerous, in which case I'll reschedule. Have a nice day, everyone!
Good Morning All. It was a nice weekend with just spots of rain here and there and lots of sunshine...especially yesterday when my son-in-law grilled ribs and chicken breasts for our main meal. @Diane Lane and @Ina I. Wonder hope that wet weather stops drenching your side of town so much and that the sun spends more time out drying up all that saturation. Here in Needville, TX it has not been bad where my daughter's family lives and I thank God for that. My second week here is beginning today and I am having a wonderful time with my youngest granddaughter who is getting to big way to fast! Next Monday we will pick my husband up at the train station and he will spend until Friday here...then my daughter will take us both back to the train station to ride it back to our home inn Louisiana together. I hope my husband will enjoy riding on the train as much as I do and it will be nice to have our first train trip together. @Ike Willis hope things are going well for you and that you are feeling well too. For everyone today I wish you lots of sunshine, a body that feels no pain today, and special blessings all throughout your day. Now that I've wished you all a wonderful day, I'm going to make my cup of coffee and enjoy every last drop of it!
@Good morning to all my friends, and to all you new members that I hope to get to know as well. I've made more friends online than I have in person during my life. And since I can't see most of you, I get to imagine you all as senior Mr.'s and Mrs.'s America. We're all still beautiful in the Creator's eyes.
@Ike Willis I wish I could make my grocery list and just turn it in. Half the time now I can't decide what to buy...and when I ask my husband what he wants...he always says anything is fine. It seems to be true that as you get older...you just aren't as hungry and don't crave a lot of things like you used to either.
Good Morning, Y'all. That sounds like a nice train trip @Babs Hunt, how long does it take? I'm sure the trip home together will be enjoyable. I wasn't quite sure where Needville was, I was thinking over by Beaumont, but I see it's in Fort Bend County. It sounds like a nice week y'all have planned. I'm hoping to get everything done around the rain. We'll have some today and then again Thurs-Weekend. I hope it does dry up. Is it wet over that way still? I'm off to run a few errands in a bit, then home for a nap, hopefully. It was another long sleepless night, but at least I have some good books to read. The sky is starting to brighten up a bit, hopefully the sun will burn off some of the leftover rainwater. On my way out, i'll get to check the level of the gully water. Have a lovely day!
Yes, it sure makes it easier not having to go out for grub. I do miss wandering around in the store though, but there's so much I can't eat anymore that I'm better off not going. I sure miss junk food though.
Yes, @Diane Lane my daughter and her family live in Fort Bend County, thank the Lord it is not where the Brazos River has been overflowing so much. Although she shops a lot in Rosenberg, the shops are not by where the River is flooding. They have really been blessed so far and I pray God keeps protecting them and their property from floods. When I first came out here I walked all around there property, etc. and prayed God's hedge of protection around what He has blessed them with...and that same hedge of protection around each of them and their vehicles. God has done an awesome job of protecting their property and keeping them all safe and I thank Him often for doing so. Here in their subdivison there is no flooding at this time. I hope you have had a lovely day Diane. I have spent most of my day organizing my daughter's house...she is nesting for the her the son she will birth in about 3 months but she did not inherit my organizing skills so I am using that gift for her and the baby to come right now.
Good Morning, Y'all. The sun is shining again, and it's a welcome sight. I just noticed my first pink mandevilla blossom of the season! The white one has been blossoming for a while now, but all I've had on the pink one was buds, up until now. It's a glorious day, I just stepped out mid post to check it out. The birds are happily chirping, and the lighting was perfect, so I snapped a few pictures. @Babs Hunt Brazoria County seems to flood a lot. The livestock down there often seem to be caught in floodwaters. I don't know if that's always been the case, but it seems to have happened a lot over the past several years. I'm glad your daughter's place hasn't been affected. Hopefully things will dry up and we won't have additional rain anytime soon, but I think more storms are forecast for this weekend, if not before. Have a nice day y'all!
I'm really feeling my "age" this morning after spending yesterday "organizing" my daughter's home in preparation for the new baby. Today I am taking care of my granddaughter while her Mommy and Daddy are at work, we are going to just going to stay in our pajamas and be lazy today. Hope all of you have a beautiful day filled with lots of sunshine and joy.
Good Morning to all! It is sunny today, and a bit hot...but the rest of the week is supposed to be very nice, PTL! low humidity, pleasant temps and lots of sun! I am so grateful. Anyway, I think I will go swimming today, as I need the exercise, and when I went last week the water felt great! I hope everyone has an awesome day...doing whatever, you are going to end up doing!
Good morning everyone. Here in Texas we had 5 days of rain (which drowned half of my garden) which is not followed by days of intense 90 degree weather. Whew! It is still early in the summer for this kind of heat. Guess we will be having 106 to 110 degree weather end of July or first of August. Currently, though, the yards are green and happy while the humans complain.
Happy Thursday! 95 in Fresno today which is not bad. I have so much to do but it depends how I feel, nothing is urgent so it can all wait. My mood is still low but at least Im not crying anymore. I have turned over a new leaf in my life since my mom died, I didn't like the person I've become lately and definitely not the woman my mother raised me to be. I see a lot of new people I have to meet on here and of course my old friends. Have a great day everyone!
It is a beautiful sunny day out here in Alabama, as well. We are supposed to be around 89 today; so not quite as hot as you are out in California, @Chrissy Page , but still plenty hot. The swimming pool should be all warmed up by this afternoon, after cooling off the last couple of chillier (comparatively) days. This morning is our "going to the fitness center" day, so we are headed there for exercise this morning. The tomatoes are growing in the back yard, and we even have a tiny little cherry tomato on one of the plants, and blossoms on several of the other ones. Hopefully, the birds will not eat the tomatoes like they seem to have eaten all of the strawberries and raspberries. I am now feeding the birds and squirrels out in the front yard instead of out back. This seems to be keeping them away from the swimming pool, and there is a gravelly area out front under one of the big trees where the grass doesn't grow well anyway. This is where I am now feeding the birds, and I figured that any seeds that they miss might just sprout and be some kind of a grass, since that is what most of the bird seed is made from.
Yikes, 89, 95, I hate that kind of weather. At least it is dry in Fresno though, although we may be in for some warm weather this weekend. As for now, it is uncharacteristically beautiful here about 71 degrees with low humidity. It is feeling a lot more like late September than mid June, and hey, I will take it!!! Gonna do a bit more grass mowing today. I will probably hang out on the deck too...since the bees don't like this kind of weather.
